Finitevus' feet shuffled quickly and purposefully across the floor. Down the hallway a door quickly approached him. A quick knock announced his arrival, and it parted from the wall as he turned its handle to allow him passage. Letting it shut behind him he quickly moved in toward a small table in the room, setting down a laptop previously tucked under his arm and glancing at the room's occupant; a tenrec. "Hello, Dashiel," he greeted. "How are you feeling today?"

Dash stirred a moment, stretching and yawning, moving his mechanical arm a bit in the process before rubbing at his eyes (mostly out of habit). "M'kay. Just call me Dash."

"Good, good," the doctor said distractedly, typing something down on his laptop. After a moment he looked back up. "So! How would you like to get those bandages off your face today?"

"Well, that'd be nice... ... would I be able to see finally?"

"Blurry most likely, but yes, you should," Finitevus stood and began to approach his patient. "Can you sit up?"

"Yeah, just..." He struggled for a moment, "... just a second." After a brief struggle trying to get his mechanical arm to cooperate, he managed to get into a sit. "I think I'm getting the hang of these things."

"Are you? Excellent! May I see your arm for a moment?" The doctor waited patiently for Dash to lift his mechanical arm out toward him, then took it into his hands and inspected it for a few minutes; pressing against certain joints to be sure they worked smoothly, instructing the tenrec to apply resistance where necessary, and finally asking him to try a few simple maneuvers on his own. He smiled. Clumsy and sluggish as Dash's movements were he was pleased with his progress. "Excellent," he praised. "You're doing wonderfully. Now then, are you ready to have those bandages removed?"

"Yeah, definitely, doc. I'm getting a bit tired of being in the dark all the time." He meant that in a joking way. He really had no idea.

"Understandable," Fini said, "Well, let's get to it then," Taking a hold of its end he slowly began to peel the wrappings off.

And with each length of bandage that was removed, the moment of truth drew nearer, until finally... The tenrec blinked, the irises of his cybernetic eyes lowly glowing a bright cyan. He shifted his gaze around the room slowly, scanning his environment... before clenching his eyes tightly shut and rubbing at them with his 'good' hand. "Okay, that's a trip. I think I'm motion sick."

"Hmm," Fini responded. "I can get you a night mask if you think it's going to be a problem. Although the more you can tolerate it the quicker your eyes will be able to adjust."

"I think I'll be okay", the tenrec muttered, peeking out from under his hand. "It's just... really... weird. It feels like everything is in ... uh... slow motion... or something..."

"You'll be fine. You're probably experiencing the 'slow motion' because your eyes are fitted with high speed motion sensors. Give them some time to calibrate themselves and sync up with your optic nerves."

Dash's hand slid a bit down his face as he stared at the doctor (and trying to avoid moving to much so things would stay still). "... what?"

Fini paused. "Right, right, your amnesia... Have you managed to recall anything more since the last time we spoke about that?"

Dash tilted his head a bit, followed by clenching his eyes tightly shut. Motion... didn't agree with him at the moment. "No," he shook his head, eyes still shut, "Not a thing. You look familiar now though."

"So you have no idea what the organization you joined is about or what it is we do?"

He pondered, now rubbing his temple in an attempt to quell his suddenly arising headache. "... some... sort of legion?"

"Yes," Finitevus said, cupping his hands together. "When you joined you informed me that your greater strength was in running. So, with your accident and all, I took the liberty of... improving on your natural talent." he paused. "I hope you won't mind. I can downgrade you if you insist."

The tenrec continued to massage his temple. "... improving? What kind of liberties??"

The doctor tapped his fingers together. "You're familiar with Sonic the Hedgehog?"

He paused, opening his eyes to stare at the pangolin. "..."

Fini noted the expression. "Is this a problem?"

"... you're not ... trying to imply that..."

"Admittedly it is experimental technology, but, should everything work as theorized... yes."

The tenrec simply... slowly lied down, not saying a word. "..."

And Fini allowed him a few moments of silence to let that information sink in. Then finally; "Dashiel?"

"... what."

"Is this going to be a problem?" Finitevus asked slowly.

A long, long silence. "... I ... guess not."
