Jonas tugged at his shirt collar nervously as he sat back in the booth his was sitting in. He was at the small diner he and Bunnie had agreed to meet at. Though after recent events, it almost seemed like a lifetime ago. He was worried that she hadn't remembered. Of course, given what had occured AFTER they'd made plans...maybe she just didn't want to have anything more to do with him. Oh well...not like his luck with females had been much better beforehand. "*sigh*"

There was a popular rule in dating; men must be on time, but women can be fashionably late. It began to seem as though this would be the case, until... Tromp, tromp, tromp. The sound of mechanical footsteps entered the building. The familiar cyborg rabbit known as Bunnie paused in the doorway as she glanced around for her would-be date.

Jonas looked up at the sound, brightening a bit as he spotted Bunnie come in. Heh, well whaddya know... He stood up a bit and waved to her to get her attention.

And he caught it. Bunnie's face parted with a smile, and she raised her own hand to wave back as she walked toward him and took the seat opposite. "Well howdy there," she greeted with a sly grin. "Fancy meetin' ya'll at a place like this."

Jonas grinned back. "Yes, what are the chances that two people who made a lunch date would encounter each other in the same diner," he joked with a chuckle.

"Well seein' as I saw ya'll on the TV I's beginnin' to wonder," she grinned sheepishly. "Ya'll sure know how to find yerself neck-deep, don'tcha?

"Oh, you saw..." He responded with a bit of a grimace. He still felt that whole trial had been a complete mockery. But its after-effects however...those were starting to look up. "Yes, I suppose it seems that way, doesn't it?"

"I dun think there's anyone who ain't gonna be hearin' about it if they ain't already," Bunnie smirked. "So how'd that turn out? Didn't get to see the end..."

"Well...I lost, I guess," he told her. As far as the trial goes, yes he'd lost, but events afterword may just turn that around in the long run. Deciding to change the subject, he glanced to the menus tucked behind the napkin holder. "Should we...get ordered?"

"Lost?" Bunnie echoed in surprise. Before she could continue that train of thought she found herself cut off by the squirrel's question. Blinking in surprise, but allowing the topic to slide for the moment, she nodded and reached for one of the menus. A small smirk began to play across her face. "Ah.. sure. Just remember ya'll're buyin'~"

"Of course," he replied, fiving her a smile. He grabbed a menu himself and began browsing through it. "Hmm...been a while since I've ate out like this..."

"I do it occasionally m'self," Bunnie commented, looking over the menu. "Welp, club sandwich sounds good to me." she announced, closing the menu and setting it down. Looking over the squirrel sitting across from her at the moment, the cyborg rabbit leaned forward to rest her chin in her palm. "So how's a feller like you end up with one of Eggman's robots anywho?"

"Wel...he kinda chose me," Jonas admitted. "Something about me being low profile enough for his needs. And one doesn't argue with a robot with more firepower than most regiments," he finished with a small smirk. "Besides that, there was also the fact that we had a common enemy."

"Yea I guess I can't argue that," Bunnie scratched her cheek sheepishly. "Seein' as m'poor board's now in splinters."

Jonas blushed. "Yes... Again, sorry about that..." He scanned his own menu for a moment. "Well, I suppose we'd better call over a waiter," he said, looking over to the main counter and giving a small wave of his arm to get someone's attention.

Bunnie shrugged. "What's done's done, honey. S'just a shame seein' as it was a custom. But I might be able to get it replaced."

"I'd be willing to help pay for that," Jonas said quickly. "The least I could do...really."

The rabbit's head shook vigorously. "Nope. Ah said Ah didn't want yer money n' I meant it." then, leaning so that her mechanical arm was resting upon the table and her chin cradled in her palm, she grinned playfully. "'Sides; havin' lunch with a cutie like you's good enough fer me."

Aaand cue another blush. "Uh...thanks." A small mouse girl came by then to take their orders. "Oh right, uh...BLT combo, light mayo, and a medium drink."

Announcing her order to the waitress, Bunnie waited for her to stride off before resuming her focus on her would-be date. "So," she began, that smile returning. "Enougha me whinin'. Ya'll got any hobbies when ya'll ain't in the middle of trouble?"

"Well, robotics was sort of a hobby until recently. People don't usually need a robot repairman," he told her. "Other than that...I like science fiction. Movies and books."

"Ah the classics," he said with a smile. "Well, high techfiction, giant robots and all that, is pretty much at the top of my list, but I definatly love a good sword and sorcery tale, and a lot of those do go a lot how you prefer them." Just then, the waitress returned with their orders. After things were sorted out and they had gotten started on their meals, Jonas moved to continue the conversation. "So, what do you do for a living?"

Thoughtfully chewing her sandwich, Bunnie's eyes wandered up toward the ceiling. She swallowed. "Well, technically I ain't employed at the moment," she answered, letting her eyes drift back down onto the squirrel sitting across from her. "M'an artist y'see. Mostly Ah do freelance work."

Jonas made an 'Mmmhmm' sound as he was currently mid bite in his BLT. "Really?" he said when his mouth was clear. "Well...I'd love to see some of your work...if you don't mind, that is."

"Oh, sure!" Bunnie said, clearly enthused by the squirrel's interest. "Actually, if ya'll hold on a sec, Ah can..." she trailed off, her torso twisting as she reached behind and rummaged around for something in hammerspace. Producing a violet laptop she flipped the screen up and set it on the side of the table, organic and mechanical fingers working harmoniously across its keyboard. "Ah, here we go!" she announced, twisting it around for Jonas to examine. A folder containing a series of scans and photos awaited his attention. "Mostly Ah do paintin' and sculptin', but I dabble in some other things too."

"Well, in my opinion, you do very good work," he told her as he looked through the folder. "Have you ever thought about going professional?"

"Nah," Bunnie said, waving a hand. "Too limitin', Ah like the freedom freelance gives me. Thought of openin' an art boutique at some point though."
