Glancing to either side for a break in the crowd, Zachary lurched forward, heading toward an alley nearby. "Come on, this w--" he doctor's words died abruptly, catching a shimmer of bright green and yellow from the corner of his eye, --"WATCH OUT!" he yelled, grabbing Raki out of its path and hugging her as they both went to the ground, all while turning his armored back to the threat. ((FANSERVICE~))

Thankfully, the firework zinged 'harmlessly' over the two, instead embedding itself into an unfortunately placed newspaper stand and quite promptly exploding into some interesting flames fed on a very healthy diet of bad journalism. However, only half of this really registered to Raki. Mainly, that there had been a firework, and that she -had- been in the path, and that she wasn't now. Oh, also, she was pinned underneath someone she didn't know too terribly well but did happen to think was quite cute but... er... still didn't know too well. Regardless, it was more important that she didn't have a sparkler lodged in her brain, and that realization came out on top as the more important priority. And, as all tenrecs do under duress, she was apparently having a very, very bad hair day and looking ridiculously flustered. "..."

With that immediate threat out of the way, Zachary wasted no time in getting back to his feet and quickly dusting himself off. He then offered a hand back down to the bewildered tenrec. "Are you okay?"

Taking his hand and getting to her feet in a fairly unbalanced manner, she gave the pangolin a baffled look (and gave the now very much in flame newstand a glance). Subconsciously she attempted to sweep her spines back, but the damage had already done. But, to the question itself, she gave a small nod. Cover would be quite nice right now.

"Good. I severely doubt you'd want to be one of my patients," the doctor commented, snatching her by the wrist again and leading her off toward the alley. From there Zachary lead her through several alleys, waded across more streets flooded with panicked people and avoided more explosions. Finally... they seemed to reach their destination. ... ... Station Square Memorial?

"How... apt."

"I feel like I'm in one of those b-flicks right now," Zachary groaned softly to himself as they stepped into the lobby. Turning to look at Raki he pointed toward the back. "Alright, find an elevator and take it down. The hospital has a two sub-levels, you should be safe down there." He turned and began to walk in an entirely different direction.

Ah yes, that reminded her. "I was right, by the way."

The doctor paused mid-step, glancing back at her. "About what?"

She waved a finger. "It ended in a explosion." And, that said, she made her way to the stairwell. As if she'd trust an elevator in an emergency.

The doctor stared at her for a moment, and then smirked. "It was a pleasure meeting you, my dear. Till next we speak," he said, punctuating it with a small but theatrical bow. That said and done, he turned and purposely walked off.
