Hugh took a drink as he laughed off Zack's sarcastic comment.
"Werehog? Seriously? That sounds so stupid that it goes all the way around the meter back into 'unbelievably awesome' territory."
Pause.
"... If you two decide to finish that movie sometime, invite me along. I need to broaden my horizons and begin brutally mocking something other than coworkers."

Zachary's brow arched, snerking as her finished off his latte. "I suppose I could ask if she minds. Assuming she even wants to again after that."

"Hmph, her loss."
Hugh looked down at his coffee and realized he was slowly comming to the bottom of the cup. Why did coffee always seem to go down quicker when you wanted to take your time?
"So, what's this project you're planing to do with Miles? Hopefully it's nothing involving aviation, otherwise you may want to start planing on replacing a few more limbs of yours."

The pangolin laughed. "Actually, here," he said, taking up the newspaper again and pointing out another article. "I assume by now you're aware of this 'Sol' Dimension as they seem to have dubbed it. A few of its citizens were recently transported to our world by accident, and I presume a few of ours may have been scattered on the other side as well," he paused long enough to allow this information to sink in. "Believe it or not I actually do study a few fields outside of biomechanics; currently there's no way to travel to or even communicate with Sol, so I'd like to see if Miles would be willing to help me change that. Seeing as his friend is usually at the forefront of these sorts of messes I'm almost certain he'll agree."

"Ah yes, I've heard about that..." the badger responded as he looked at the newspaper again, "Apparently, one dimension just isn't good enough for us, oh no. We have to have two, because we're all greedy SOBs..."
Hugh brought the cup to his mouth and emptied the last of its contents.
"And you want to work with Miles to bridge the connection between them? My, aren't you ever the ambitious one. Just make sure this Sol place is as peaceful as you think. I don't want to wake up one morning to find an Eldritch Abomination outside my apartment window. That would just ruin my day."

"Hmmhmm," Zack chuckled. "Well, seeing as what is apparently the princess was one of the victims taken here I think I'd be more concerned with whether or not we've made a good impression." he smirked. "In fact, if what I've gleamed about her versus a hunch I have proves to be correct, I might have to work fairly closely with her."

"Ah, well, in that case, I think I'd prefer to have Shub-Niggurath standing outside my window rather than a princess. The only thing worse than politicians is royalty, considering how democratic rulers are already quite drunk on power... Or just plain drunk."
Eyeing the trash can nearby, Hugh attempted to throw his empty cup into it from where he was sitting... only to watch it bounce off the rim and onto the sidewalk. Oh well.

"Heh, and if I were any other doctor I'll bet you'd be nailing me to the ground," Zachary teased, motioning to take another sip and realizing that he, too, was now out of coffee. Momentarily disappointed, he shrugged it off and tossed it straight into the air, giving it a smack with his tail toward the trash can. [dice=2] (1 = makes it, 2 = doesn't)And made it, to his smug satisfaction. Rising from his seat, he stretched. "Well, Hugh, it's been a pleasure seeing you, but I should probably be getting back."[rand=116383097166090522144138714509524864144372241745533061553945912706]

Also rising from his seat, Hugh offered his hand to the other doctor.
"Likewise. I hope everything works out for you in the long run, Zack."

Zachary nodded, graciously taking his apprentice's hand and giving it a firm shake. "I have a way of beating odds; I'm sure I'll make do. Take care of yourself; and don't annoy your colleagues too much, hmm?"

"Now, now, I only do so when they deserve it, Zack. It's not my fault they do things to warrant it about as naturally as breathing... In any case, I'll see you around, doctor."
And with that, Hugh placed a few rings on the table to pay for his coffee before turning and walking back the way he came.
