27 took one last look at the fish tank before following Isis, wondering vaguely why they couldn't take the fishs' secret escape route. But oh well, Fish Goddess Isis most likely knew what she was talking about, and besides, it was most likely a fish only exit anyway.
He did feel a bit disappointed that he didn't get to eat that one fish but... next time he saw it, it would be his. Oh yes.

Meanwhile Silver and Sally blasted out through the hole in the dome, and could now see that the island was only a few minutes from crashing into a cluster of pumpkin shaped mountains. "I hope everyone makes it out of there," Sally said to herself as Silver carried her away from the doomed fortress.

It was around then that the T-RX, with the RV of DOOM inside, touched down from its flight next to Isis. An elevator platform lowers. "MISS ISIS. PLEASE CLIMB ON BOARD. NEXT STOP: DESERT MINE FACILITY. THE DOCTOR IS HAVING A FEW TEMPORARY DELAYS. HE WILL MEET US THERE."

The T-REX accepts its passengers and flies off. As the Island collides with Pumpkin Hill, there is a huge crash. Regardless of whether or not the Brainwashing had any effect, the Island will be investigated and all of Talon's records will be filed. Hundreds of secrets, weapons, and science projects await here now, free for the taking. As the island comes to a halt, it is pinned within 3 pumpkin spires, and sets neatly on the ocean, unable to sink. Then, the main CPU malfunctions...and sneezes. Missles eject themselves anticipating attack, but their aim obliterates the glass dome, leaving the moles there, officially free. One missle went astray however, and destroyed on of the hills. It collapses into the water forming a bridge between the Island and the mainland.

"Warning, airborne missile launch ahead."Tails frowned, looking up at the wing over his head. "Sonic! There are missiles ahead! Hold on tight!" Though he received no answer (being as he was only hallucinating Sonic's presence on the top wing of the bi-plane) he knew Sonic was holding on tight. He licked his lips and gripped the steering prongs tight. "Warning, unidentified craft ahead. Warning, unidentified craft ahead." Tails shook his head, rubbing it as he started to wonder when he'd installed a vocal warning system in the Tornado. He didn't remember adding one ... "Sonic! Are you okay up there?" There was no answer and his fur stood on end. "Sonic? ... SONIC?!"

There was a shift in the rubble. A flare gun fires up into the air trying to signal Tails's plane. The source of the flare, is a very malconent reptile. his right hand appears to be missing, and his left hand covers what was once his right eye. His only remaining organic eye. one of his metallic legs is completely bent out of shape, and drags along, being more of a peg-leg, as the other one scoots its way forward.

Tails shook his head, this was no time to be losing his wits. There, there was a flare ahead. Someone needed help. He tried to focus on the minutae of landing procedures, lowering the wheels and slowing his speed with gentle tilts of his fins. When he wasn't being shot at or being hassled by Sonic yelling in his ear, his practice came to bear and he touched the plane down on some bumpy flat, jostling slightly against the belts.

Talon begins hobbling through the remains of his newly crashed city. Then he desperatley checks his pocket for the thing which kept him still there in the explosion. Yes, it was still on his person. This important object was worth the injuries he now suffered, and at least he had been able to copy Silver Sonic's data. However, he was still trying to come to grips that his life's works were now nothing. Every product he had fitted with dangerous devices was now harmless. The detonation signatures, code, and everything else were now lost. It was a cruel irony. He'd spent his entire life plotting revenge against humanity, and now he realized that he had lost his own humanity in the process. Revenge was no longer an option. The signals were encrypted and protected to the point of being untamperable, and uncopyable. It took half a decade just building that program, and even longer distributing the recievers, and now there was nothing left. His identity could no longer be kept secret. And it was all Eri's fault.

Tails pulled himself out of the cockpit and jumped down, his sneakers crunching on the rubble. He looked around. "Hello?!"

Talon began slowly limping towards the pilot, whom he could now confirms as Miles Prower, the Fox. World renowned hero, and saviour of Station Square. As he shuffled out from behind a pile of rubble, his leg attachemts gave strained whirrs and clanks. "I ask you...perchance are you...merciful?"

Tails blinked. Oh lord, it was Talon himself. He looked like he'd had the mother of all bad days. "Um ... I ... I'd like to think so."

"Then, my good child, might I ask for you assistance. I seem to lack transportation. And my injuries are in great need of attention."

Tails sighed out. "Well ... you don't look like you can cause any trouble. Come on, I'll get you to a hospital or something. What the heck happened here anyway?" He walked over and put his arms out to steady Talon and help him to the plane.

"An Ex-Friend on mine named Eri apparently thought it would be wise to sell me out." Talon limps over, leaning some of his weight onto Tails. "I am greatly appreciative of your mercy. It shall be remembered."

"Eri? That guy in the armoured thing? Huh ... and I wouldn't get too grateful just yet. I'll happily turn you over to the authoreties once I've got you to a hospital." Tails helped him up into the passenger seat.

Talon's face drooped. "Must we really perform the menial taks of turning me to the authorities? Obviously I will escape. In fact I can guarantee it. Just take me to Sonic, or a parts garage, and I'll take it over from there."

"Forget it. You're a darned trouble maker, Talon. You know, you could have used your mind for anything! Why'd you have to use it for bad?" Tails scrambled into the pilot's seat and paused for a moment, putting a hand to his head as a wave of dizziness rippled from the lump just before his ear.

"Do not deny things you know yourself child. Or have you not noticed your mentor Sonic, commanding your every move. I'll bet that whenever he's around you're just a weak helpless puppet. But look at you now. On your own, flying planes, kissing the sky! There is nothing you can't do as long as there is no weight holding you down."

Tails said nothing, plomping down into the seat and pulling on the belts. He tried not to let a whisper of doubt start chattering inside. He turned on the engine. "Sonic has been a brother and a friend, Doctor. He let me tag along with him even though I was just a kid who knew nothing when we first met."

"Ah ha ha. My boy. Don't you see? You still ARE. Have you noticed it's Sonic and Tails, not Tails and Sonic? I don't think thats ever going to change is it, hmm? Yes. I can see thats all you want to be then? Just another ghost in his shadow?"

He wished it didn't, but that stung. Tails put his ears back and took off neatly. "I'm not your boy, Talon. ... I'm not anyone's boy." Maybe Talon couldn't understand. Sonic was all he had. He was family.

"Ah yes. That's the spirit. You know, I like you Tails. Perchance could I offer you a tour of one of my facilities sometime? After all I feel as if we are kinded spirits. You seem to be relatively alone aside from that hedgehog, and I was disowned by my own family when I was about your age." Talon was silent for just a brief moment. "Of course I suppose I can't at least visit your facilities first then? I am bleeding after all."

Tails' curiosity was piqued, and he wondered briefly what kind of hardware Talon could support with his wealth and experience. How would his own lab show up in contrast? It was so humble, so cluttered from his ideas and projects ... "I'm flying as fast as I can, Doctor."
