"Have you encountered a robot calling itself Silver Sonic?" She asked him.

Sonic sorta knew where this was going. "A robot? ... Yeeeeah, I'm pretty sure I have. Just today, actually. ... Man, it's been a rough day. ( I wonder if it's a Monday or something... )" Sonic glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "But I took care of him. ... Well, as best as I could before I had to hightail it out of the battlezone." He shrugged. "Why do you ask?"

"You fought it, but not destroyed it?" She grimaced, "That's not good..." She pulled out a small computer and activated a small hologram. The computer was virual identical in capabilities to Nicole's old form, except it didn't have an AI installed yet, and Sal wasn't sure if she really wanted another one yet. A small hologram appeared of Silver Sonic Mk 3's original form. "This is the Silver Sonic unit as it was when we found it just after the Chaos creature's attack on Station Square. We were mostly using it as a study on Dr. Robotnik's technological and programming capabilities, but after the Black Arms, we decided it might have other uses besides study." She pressed a button and the image shifted to Silver's current form. "We gave it an almost complete refit, intending to use it to capture and bring in suspects. However the new AI didn't take orders well apparently, cause less than a day after it was online we...lost it."

"... ... ... You... lost it?" Sonic's expression changed... But it wasn't to anger. One thing's for sure; He definitely gave her a funny look. "Uh... You know that I could have gotten seriously beat up, right? I mean..." He crossed his arms. "That dude wasn't playing around. He was really trying to take me out, or apprehend me, or something.." He paced slowly in front of her. "... I have a question; How on earth did you -lose- something like that? It seems to me that something of that caliber would have been under heavy guard of some kind. What happened to that, I ask? GUN not holding their end of the deal for national defense, or what?"

She sighed. She'd basically had the same reaction when she'd read the report. "Near as we can tell it basically shut down security and walked out before anyone realized it. Actually our prime target for it was to go after Eggman, so it had been equiped with a number of state of the art security and hacking tools." "But how it got away is our problem. Your problem, is that it seems to have picked you as its primary target, and also seems to be working for Eggman. But the real problem is... it has a fail safe option. You see, it learns from each of your encounters, trying to come up with better ways of catching you. However...if it finds that it has exhausted all possible options for live capture, it'll then try to terminate you."

"Terminate? Me?" Sonic paused, and looked away for a moment, pondering.. And a slow smirk appeared on his face. "Well then, there's no other way around it, is there?" He threw his hands up in the air, and chuckled as he let them fall to his sides. He turned and glanced over to Sally. "Sounds to me like it's time someone shoved the power of the 7 Chaos Emeralds up that metallic wazoo of his." He made a thumbs-up. "And I'm the hedgehog to do it!"

Sally just raised an eyebrow at him. "Right...and just how were you planning to do that, without the chaos emeralds?"

"And what happens when Silver Sonic, with possibly Eggman and Metal Sonic in tow, shows up while you're doing this?"

She continued to ask question after question after question. Finally, he just looked her in the eye, with a rather dead-serious expression on his face. "Hey. Hold up for a second. My turn to ask a question." He crossed his arms, and stared for a moment. "Do you not trust in my skills as Sonic the Hedgehog, world-reknowned hero who, time and time again, has brought the plans of an evil genius through the floor, battled giant monsters threatening to overtake the world, and raced at speeds people can only dream of?" He paused. "... Do you not trust me?

She just stared right back. "Most of your saving the world has been done by the skin of your teeth, reinforced with a lot of dumb luck. Why you haven't died yet doing what you do is something that baffles a lot of us to this day." "You didn't exactly deal with Chaos until it had already demolished a city. You let Robotnik use the emeralds to actually divide the world into seven pieces, and if I recall correctly, we'd all be alien chow right now if it weren't for three bumbling dectectives and a bipolar genetic experiment."

Ouch. ... Or not... Sonic looked her in the face and smirked. "You know? Being unable to take down Chaos until the last minute was way out of my hands. Chaos got the emeralds before we did. There is no changing that. But the fact is I kept the destruction of one city from turning into the destruction of cities all around the world." He paused. "So Eggman managed to separate the world. That was a surprise attack; None of us expected it. What could I have done then? In any case, it didn't cause much harm, except to the planet itself, of course. I was able to bring defeat to him and his machine, as well as bring the planet back together in one piece." Then he thought. "... As for that time with the aliens... I think that was a mission only Shadow could have been able to do. It was.. his fate, so to speak." He crossed his arms, and looked Sally in the face again. "Think of it this way; We're all still standing, because in my efforts to protect the populace, I haven't failed. I'm reliable. The fact that your organization couldn't keep a robot from simply -escaping- tells me that you guys, in fact, aren't reliable." He turned and walked away from her, heading to his room. "Now, I got some cleaning up of myself to handle before I do anything else. If you see her, tell Blaze I'm waiting to speak to her again. I have something for her that she needs to take before she leaves this building." And off he walked, to his room, before shutting the door, and locking it tight. He had to get his blue back.

"Grrr...pig headed, stubborn, bull headed, HEDGEHOG!" Sally said in fustration after he was gone. At that moment she was tempted to head back to HQ and tell the commander where he could stick this assignment, but after a moment she calmed down. Fine, he wanted to totally ignore her warnings? She'd just find a way to save him from Silver Sonic herself...though how she was supposed to stop a robot that even in its basic form had been capable of going toe to toe with Sonic was eluding her at the moment.

Blaze was back. She looked highly unnerved and was mumbling something about radioactive singing hamsters trying to eat her. God only knows what horrors she'd experienced in the basement just now. She walked up, blinking as she saw that squirrel lady standing outside Sonic's door, which was now...shut and locked. Uh...wha? The first thing Blaze felt was confusion...soon followed by something else. A feeling she hadn't before experienced rose up inside of her. It was dark, clouded, and angry, growling and baring its teeth at the squirrel in front of her. What was going on? What had happened? Blaze's thoughts dove into wild speculation, darkening her mood further with their absurd, yet possible, conclusions. Narrowing her eyes, Blaze leaned against the wall and asked Sally, "So...did he just break up with you or something?"

Blaze's anger diminished somewhat, though she was no less wary as she asked, "So what DID happen, exactly? What were you two talking about?" Apparently, being from another dimension caused Blaze to be unfamiliar with a particular saying involving cats and curiosity.

Sally look the cat over for second. She knew the basics of who Blaze was. Finally she shrugged, if Sonic wasn't going to look out for himself, she could at least make sure someone else was. "I was trying to warn Sonic about a dangerous robot that's after him, but he's decided that the chaos emeralds are his answer to everything, apparently."

Blaze blinked, then raised an eyebrow. "Uh...since when are robots not out to get him? Doctor Eggman is his arch-nemesis, for Solaris' sake." She returned to a standing position and approached the squirrel, less cautious now than before as it seemed Sally was being sincere. "If Eggman is anything like Nega -- which he seems to be from what I saw during my last adventure here -- then he builds mechanical minions purely as a way to pass the time." She rubbed her forehead, tracing the outline of the jewel there. It was warm to the touch but slowly cooling down, reflecting her emotions. "Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if he built a mechanical copy of Sonic just like that dirty old man did for me..."

"That's just it, this robot wasn't built, or at least put together by, Eggman, it was a GUN prototype," She sighed, and pulled out her computer again to display the small holo of Silver Sonic.

Blaze stared. "...A mechanical copy of Sonic," She stated dully, lowering her eyelids halfway as she gave Sally a flat look. "Boy, this G.U.N. group is real creative." She scratched under her chin (an action that provoked a momentary purr of satisfaction) as she wracked her brain. She remembered seeing the initials G.U.N. somewhere before... Blaze snapped her fingers suddenly. "Now I remember! G.U.N. owned that ocean freighter that me and Sonic had to navigate the last time I was over here. What a huge crisis that was...how often do they let Eggman run amok with his battle machines on their property, anyway?"

"Hey, it was an Eggman bot first!" Sally protested. "And we only have one Sonic copy, Eggman has like 4 or 5, plus Robo Knuckles and that Tails Doll thing! And from what I've read, you're not exactly spotless in the permanent Eggman defeat department either!"

Blaze's eyebrows practically flew off her head. "Well, I'm not surprised that Eggman built robot Sonics, but...Robo Knuckles? Tails Doll?? You must be joking." Then she did a double-take. "Wait a minute. 'We'? You mean you're a part of this G.U.N. group?" She blinked, recalling an earlier piece of information. "...I guess that explains the 'military officer' bit, then." "And as for my 'spotty record'..." Blaze snorted. "Who said this was about defeating Eggman permanently? I'm talking about the security at your bases." The princess frowned, deciding this was a good time to voice something that had bothered her ever since the last time she'd been here. "Look, you guys are the police force here, right? You exist to uphold the law and justice of this world. But from what I've seen so far, you aren't doing a very good job of it." She approached the hologram and leaned close to study it carefully, recording it into her memory as she continued speaking. "Now, I understand that you probably don't speak for your entire organization, but I'm hoping that by being its personal messenger to Sonic you're at least high up enough in the ranks to inform the people who matter about some of the stuff I'm gonna say now." She stood up and looked Sally square in the eyes. "If me, Sonic, Eggman, and even Eggman Nega were so easily able to slip in and out of your base whenever we pleased, AND if a super-powerful robot copy of Sonic was able to somehow just get away from you to wreck havoc like you're suggesting to me now, then you've got some serious problems with your security perimeter that you need to find and address. Immediately." She paused to look down at the floor for a moment before quietly continuing, "I should know. I had a hand in building the security at the palace where I live. And I know all the warning signs of a poor defense wall from experience." She visibly winced as she spoke this last part. Then Blaze looked back up in Sally's direction, and her expression shifted back into a neutral mask. She folded her arms. "I advise you guys seriously reexamine your security strategy -- perhaps use more trained pilots instead of those mindless A.I. drones that are so easy to outsmart and outmaneuver. Because to be honest, I don't think I can trust G.U.N. right now with the wellbeing of this dimension." She walked past Sally, waving a hand at her appreciatively as she did so. "Thank you for the information. I'll do my best to keep Sonic from getting his head blown off if he gets too cocky. Just make sure you guys don't do something stupid like try to invade my dimension in the meantime." And she knocked on the closed door. "Sonic? It's Blaze. Can I come in?"

Sallt grit her teeth. She didn't like being confrontational like this, but right now, what with Sonic's attitude and now this, she was pissed. "Right, like we're going to take security advice from someone who's managed to lose all of her emeralds at least twice," she muttered, "At least Knuckles the Echidna has had the Master Emerald only actually stolen once."

Blaze paused her knocking, bent her head, and sighed. Look who's talking about losing emeralds, she griped in her mind. The information Cream had been able to tell her about the ARK Incident was easily recalled. That rabbit girl seemed to know everything, it boggled the mind. But she could tell that Sally was building up a head of steam right now. It rather reminded Blaze of herself and how she'd acted as a child. She still acted that way sometimes -- a certain incident with a black midget alien and a blue hedgehog came to mind -- but after Sonic had declared his plan to her in his room a scant few minutes ago, she'd experienced a revelation. It was time to stop being childish. Her people and her dimension were depending on her to be the princess she was raised to be. Thus, the feline restrained herself from voicing her current thoughts, knowing that it would indeed be satisfying to do so but ultimately wouldn't solve anything. Instead, Blaze used the princessly patience and tolerance she'd been taught about in her youth rather than lashing out in defense. This was the future of this dimension at stake; it was too important for them to begin bickering like kids fighting over a toy. Blaze took a deep breath, and let it out again. "Look...I'm not trying to be confrontational about this," The feline said in a gentle tone. "This isn't about my pride or yours, it's bigger than that." She turned to give Sally a sincere look. "I'm just giving you some advice. Sonic won't be around to save the world forever. Your organization needs to figure out what the problem is and take steps towards solving it, because I care for the people in this dimension as much as those in my own." She raised her eyes to meet Sally's again. "Besides, the safety of this dimension is a primary concern to me while my people and I are still here." "In fact..." She took a deep breath again before continuing. "I was hoping to gain your assistance in the matter of returning everybody to their rightful homes. Some of the people from this dimension have likely been thrown into mine, much like my citizens accidentally wound up here. Alone, it would be sifficult for either my military or your organization to find and relocate them all. But if we work together, it may become easier." She gave the squirrel a pleading look. Turning back to the door, she knocked again. "Soooniiic, would you like to open the door for me or would you prefer if I burn it down?" She asked in a singsong tone.

A quick unlocking of the door was heard as the blue hedgehog 'lowered the defenses'. The door opened shortly after that, and Sonic gave Blaze enough room for her to walk in. "C'mon in!" The funny thing? He was completely blue again. The -really- funny thing? ... There wasn't a spot on his person that -wasn't- blue, except for the whites of his eyes and teeth. A suspicious empty can lay nearby, as well as a large blue splotch on the floor... And the room smelled -heavily- of spraycan fumes. ... He'll -really- be a speedy hedeghog if he doesn't leave that room soon.

Blaze nearly choked as the noxious smell hit her in the face when she opened the door. Eyes watering and clamping both hands over her nose, she blinked rapidly in disbelief as she stared at the newly-blue hedgehog. "...You look like a Smurf," her muffled voice declared. [dice=6] (RESISTANCE AGAINST FUMES CHECK) Luckily for Blaze, her gloves were able to filter out the worst of the smell, but only just barely. It was still quite powerful and every intake made her head feel a bit fuzzier and more clouded than before. Leaning dizzily against the wall, she asked in a faint voice, "Could you please open a window, or something...?"[rand=5008983682568957865644946303945249146905840398614588727245168853]

Sally could smell the fumes from where she was in the hallway, and waved a hand to try and clear the air. "Great...at this rate he'll OD himself on inhailants before Silver Sonic even catches up with him..."

Sonic blinked, and realized that whatever -wasn't- bothering him was surely bothering everyone else. He quickly opened a nearby window and let the fumes spill into the air outside. After that, he turned to Blaze, and smiled. "Right, I just remembered a few minutes ago that I've got something for you. I picked it up while we were fighting in the alley..." He reached behind him and then pulled out a familiar gem... The Sol Emerald shone a brilliant green, and was, for some reason, untouched by the blue mist of Spray-On Fur. Sonic grinned, and tossed it to Blaze. "Well, there's another for your collection. You approve?"

Blaze stared at the latest emerald. Green. She always liked that color. Not as much as red or blue, mind you, but it was definitely in her top three favorites. She smiled gratefully at Sonic. "Do I ever!" Another hug was spontaneously given and recieved. Blaze released him quickly, however -- they were plainly visible to Sally and she didn't want to give the squirrel any wrong ideas. "All that's left now is to find the emeralds in Metal Blaze's possession," She declared, pausing at the end of that sentence as her expression darkened. She wasn't looking forward to encountering her infuriating doppelganger again any time soon. "I hope I can count on your support here, Sonic. She's a big enough pain when I'm going solo." She bowed gratefully, thanking him again, and turned to go give Cream the good news -- but stopped short when she saw Sally standing there. "...Have you considered my request?" She asked after a moment of silence, choosing her words carefully.
