Blaze’s eyes fluttered open as a twenty-gallon vat of chocolate pudding upended itself above her head and promptly vanished. But then it turned out to be no big deal, as the chocolate that covered her formed the shape of a miniature Chaos Zero and blew a raspberry at her before hopping away on one foot. Blaze sat up; or at least she thought she did. It was difficult to tell, since her lower torso had somehow become detached and was floating off to her right somewhere as the background kaleidoscoped through enough colors to fill several RGB spectrums, or maybe one bad acid trip. The feline princess checked her arms, which had turned into penguin flippers. She didn’t feel any pain, despite the fact that the injuries she’d sustained within the battle should have left her a quivering ball on the floor at this point. But then again, her surroundings strongly suggested she was still asleep, and she thus took in the changes happening to and around her with a certain measure of calm. One of her flippers was still wrapped around the Red Chaos Emerald in a way that flippers likely were not designed to do. It was vibrating fast enough to be visible only as a red blur on her vision, yet somehow she still recognized the gem for what it was. “Hello,” She spoke to it. Her voice echoed in a deep masculine timbre which then segued into a Latin choir. “Hi,” It spoke back. Blaze blinked at it for a moment. “You can talk?” However, it did not reply, leaving her wondering if she’d just imagined the response. A killer whale and a pot of petunias fell past Blaze at a thousand miles an hour, descending towards who-knew-what at the bottom of whatever void she was floating in. Blaze blinked at the duo of objects curiously, and without even really thinking about it, regrew a new torso so she could walk sideways along an invisible wall down towards where the plant and mammal had fallen.

Elsewhere, Katie looked around wide eyed, one second she'd been crouched over the princess, the next she was in some weird funhouse...and were the walls spinning? "Um...is there a gas leak or something?" she asked as she watched a flock birds drift by, pause, turn into a school of fish, and 'swim' off, "...Or am I not the only one seeing this?"

Cosmo opened her eyes. "Wait-- where am I?" she said in a rather worried tone. She look down to see she had turned into a flower and had planted in this wierd place. "Oh my.."

After some indeterminate period of walking where nothing much changed beyond the psychadelic background, Blaze came upon a large yellow half-pipe that extended for eternity from her left to her right. She blinked at it, tilting her heads in puzzlement (since she'd grown a second one a couple minutes prior). "Huh, that's odd," The first head remarked. "Indeed," The second one replied. "Should I get on it?" "Sure, maybe it'll take me out of this place." The second head turned into a mess of green wireframes before vanishing as Blaze leaped (well, more like floated up) over the lip of the half-pipe and gently descended to land inside of it. The moment her feet touched it, the horizontal surface trembled wildly and the portion of it in front of Blaze dipped downwards in a sharp decline. The feline princess's eyes went wide and she flailed about in a futile attempt to keep her balance; the smooth surface of the pipe refused to grant her feet any traction, and before she could so much as gasp in surprise she was tumbling down it head-over-heels. Cats don't curl up as well as hedgehogs, but Blaze instinctively tried her best to wrap into a ball to protect her limbs and head as the wild ride began. Cheerful music began playing from everywhere at once. "Get 80 Rings," The Red Sol Emerald spoke again. Blaze blinked stupidly, unable to so much as give the gem a surprised glance with her current predictament. The half-pipe began curving and winding like an angry rattlesnake, and what glimpses of the area ahead she was able to gather during her rolling showed balls of spikes materializing from the ether, directly in her path. The cat rolled forward, completely out-of control and unable to change direction. She opened her mouth to scream...

Katie wasn't having all that much of a good time either. After getting dizzy watching the walls spin, she'd slipped and fallen against a wall with round flashing bricks marked GOAL. Then she'd found herself running from this whacked out robot that seemed to want to run her over for some reason and had fallen down a ginormous tube. However something good did happen there as for some reason she found herself riding her gear as she went skyboarding down it...

Maze groaned, her eyes suddenly fluttering open as she reflexively reached to rub her head. ... Huh. That was an odd sensation she felt. What was that? She pulled her hand back to realize it was no longer mechanical, but... organic? Blinking in confusion she looked down at the rest of her body. That was when she also noticed she was stuck waist down in a checker patterned floor. She also noticed there was a pair of violent colored eyes staring her in the face curiously. Upon further inspection she realized they belonged to a bizarrely human-like figure clad in a purple leotard and wearing a striped jester hat. Swirling around her quickly was the three Sol Emeralds that had been in her possession, encased in bright glass-like auras. "Like, hey!" she complained, beginning to struggle to pull herself out. Her hands melted into the floor and became stuck at the exact moment the platform suddenly turned upside down to let her dangle. The figure flipped upside down with her and gently poked her in the forehead, giggling in a high pitched voice. It snatched the blue Sol Emerald and studied it with a look of child-like fascination. "HEY! Give that back!" Maze yelled, struggling even harder. The figure stopped, tilted its head to one side, then pulled a feather from the air and began to tickle her ears with them. Maze immediately burst into an uncontrollable fit of giggles and began to struggle even harder to get free. "S-S-STOP!" she cried. The floor suddenly changed into the consistency of jello and she fell... upward... toward a cluster of rings made of golden balls. The jester continued to follow after her, apparently fascinated by the other two spears floating around her. "That's Neggy's!" she cried, reaching for the glowing stone. Latching onto it, she and the jester began a game of tug-of-war. The rings broke apart as she passed through them, and a school of fish swam past her head making loud booming sounds not too unlike that of an emu before exploding into glitter. The jester finally glanced up and cried out "Aptiva!", releasing the Emerald to Maze as she sailed through a ring made of spiked balls. The balls collapsed around her and the feline yelped in pain as their spikes stabbed into her skin. As she continued to fall the jester caught back up with her, grabbing its cheeks and sticking its tongue out before flying around her in a tight circle that created a vortex. It sucked Maze inside, and this time she found herself falling sideways into a wall of fruit which caved inward, and like a trampoline, shot her back forward. Maze tried to steady her decent by activating the flamethrowers in her feet. Rather than flames a jet stream of colorful iridescent bubbles shot out everywhere and she suddenly found herself being blasted, upside down, through the air, toward what looked to be cotton candy colored clouds. The clouds turned into a green green colored glass which wrapped around her like a cocoon before forming into the shape of a walnut. Suddenly, still encased in her strange prison, she crashed into something solid and yelped.

"OOF," The cat cried out as a sudden ramp in the half-pipe sent her careening upwards and out into space, only to collide with something in midair. Blaze uncurled dizzily as she fell at an angle away from the object. She caught a brief glimpse of something green before her view was blocked by a small planetoid the size of her castle back in Soleanna. She slammed into it, limbs splayed out like roadkill, making a impact crater shaped like her body in the checkerboard surface. Blaze groaned, slowly climbing to her feet. For whatever reason, that collision had hurt, as had her landing. She rubbed her aching head as she glanced around at the mysterious colored spheres surrounding her. "...Where am I now?" Her voice sounded odd again. She glanced down at herself and paused. "...And why am I a robot?"

"DIE EVIL NEGA ROBOT!" came a shout from 'behind' Blaze. It seemed Katie had finally managed to regroup with one of them. Unfortunatly...Blaze was a robot, and therefore looked like Maze to her. She came streaking at her with her board, it and her entire body encased in silver...then she changed back to normal but her board became some kind of go cart, which she gunned the engine as she tried to run Blaze over. [dice=6] With a cartoonish "KABLAM" and a pointless explosion, a semi-charred Blaze went flying back out into space. "WAAAAAGH--ACK!" She'd just fallen into some sort of contraption that was curling her up into a ball and spinning her around, over and over, making her dizzy -- KACHINK. KACHINK. KACHINK. Three slots above her slowed down and stopped, their pictures showing a cherry, a number seven, and Eggman's face. A buzzer sounded somewhere; and suddenly Blaze was released, falling back into the void again and slamming into colored squares and bumpers.[rand=62210293953156887980940829437447907646627349178308098942598835057]

"HEY! BLAZE!" Having quickly realized who it was who slammed into her earlier, Maze began to trying to (literally) swim back toward her counterpart. Dropping into the platform, she immediately launched herself at Blaze. "GIVE ME THOSE SOL EMERALDS!" [dice=6][rand=5467506208255856594321012779927738573232334651715620280892897281]

Katie quickly followed, having come to the horrible conclusion that she hadn't just tackled the evil creation of a madman...but the princess instead! "...Oh bollocks." She swooped in to land on the platform, but as soon as she did, the sudden switch back to normal caused her to lose her balance and she fell off her gear to go sprawling onto the ground.

Finally, she'd landed someplace that didn't launch her back into the air. It was flat, circular, and rather wide; Blaze felt a surface similar to concrete under her fingers. She staggered to her feet, holding her head that was...still made of metal. Great. "Owww..." Being metal didn't stop it from hurting, ironically. She heard someone call her name. Looking up in surprise, she saw a purple organic cat swimming towards her. She blinked. "Who are you?" And then she was being attacked. [dice=6] "WHOA!" Blaze cried out in her tinny, electronic voice as she dodged to the side. Ducking into a defensive position, she backed away from the cat. "Hey, now! Introduce yourself first, pal!"[rand=8072848057262483972844905200791336621466348919844152901725160082]

"Like, guh," the cat responded in a higher pitched version of Blaze's voice. "If you think that's gonna distract me you're, like, totally wrong! Now hand me those emeralds!" It was fairly obviously she was still upset from earlier. Without waiting for Blaze's response Maze dived at her again, attempting to snatch one of the princess' emeralds from her hammerspace. "Eh, you get used to them," Katie said from nearby. She pushed herself up to her knees before glancing over towards Cosmo. "...Don't I know you from somewhere?"

Cosmo glances over at Katie and sighed. "No, I don't think so. You probably recognize me from the sign above my flower shop-- OH NO, MY SHOP! I must get back to it.." she cried. She looked around the blank looking area.. ".. but how?"

And lo, the puppeteer had abandoned his feline charge, unwilling to fulfill the responsibility he himself had cast for reasons inane. Hence forth, a new manipulator would use her gifts divine bestowed to tug upon her strings and stir the fiery feline forth. An angry hiss burst the air as her twin stole from possession a tiny cyan gem, and...
...
... You know what, screw the dramatic writing and everything else. Blaze and Maze got in a big huge fight over possession of the Sol Emeralds, Maze wound up getting trashed and Blaze managed to retrieve all seven before everyone got dumped out of the Special Zone.
THE END AND GOOD NIGHT.
