Jerked suddenly from his thoughts by the loud crash, Venice lifted his head on reflex--but didn't turn it around. He knew that voice, even if he'd only heard it once or twice; it belonged to another of Nega's robots. He and the stranger had just, effectively, doubled their trouble. Venice groaned and put his head back down. If he was going to have to be awake for this, he wanted to be as detached and uninvolved as possible. Just then, the man who was carrying him picked up his pace--and while attempting to get away from the robotic duo was a very good idea, the increased speed made for a bumpier ride. Venice, for his part, just grit his teeth and went back to staring ahead.

A surprised yelp quickly followed Eiffel's pouncing as the ground seemed to scoop Maze up from behind. Realizing quickly whom had grabbed her she squealed joyfully, giving her younger brother a great big hug. As the two of them got back to her feet she bounced on her heels, pointing enthusiastically in the retreating duo's direction. "Hey Fifi, look, I found Winnie!"

The monkeybot followed his sister's enthusiastic pointing, and found that, yes, Winnie was indeed standing, er... sort of, right over there! He responded by bouncing over to their location, and landing, of course, right in front of them both. "Hey! Man, it was crazy out there, was it~? So much 'splodey stuff! So many robots~ It was insane! ... ... ..." And suddenly, he halted, and stood extremely still, his expression going blank... "... sis! Over here! ... A reading..! Pretty faint, but... it has to be... Nega!" He pointed in the direction the four of them had been moving. "This way! He has to be at the end of this path somewhere!"

@iron@ When he went down the hall as quick as his legs could take him, he thought was was far away from the two robots. But then up popped the little hyperactive monkey bot who was speaking some kind of gibberish to Iron. "...slpodey?" Yep, he was lost. Then Eiffel started mentioning something about Nega being nearby, causing Iron to mentally face palm. 'Of course he's here, this explains the robots lurking around.' Obviously, Iron doesn't want to meet with him. He had only hoped neither of them were going to lead them to him.

Venice's stare went from forcibly detached to outright uncomprehending ( Winnie...?) and finally settled on something resembling horrified when the monkey bot announced Nega's presence. Whispering to the buck, "I probably don't need to say this but I don't think we should follow them."

In a flash of gleaming lilac the robocat was by her brother's side, in front of Iron and Venice, and staring intently into the air. "... Omigosh, you're right!" she confirmed after a moment. With a spring the feline metallix leapt over a pile of debris and raced for the signal's direction, looking around excitedly for her master. "Neggy?" she called out. "Neggy!"

The monkeybot was simply ecstatic. Or, at least, he appeared to be. Given that his two rather elastic arms were now grasping both Venice and Iron, almost as if they were ready to... "Hey! Nega's okay! NEGA'S OKAY! ... Maybe! Let's find out! Come on~ Slowpoookes~!" ... Yup. They promptly -yanked-, and the two weary travelers came tumbling right alongside the rubberbot, all three moving in to Nega's current position..! --- The man in question was, without a doubt, just as persistent as his Chaos counterpart, if not moreso. Despite clothes being slightly ruffled, even torn in some places, in addition to slight bruising and bleeding here and there, Dr. Eggman Nega was busily reconstructing his downed mobile (which had -also- seen better days) with scattered scrap and parts that were all laying within the area. The Negamobile itself looked nothing short of a jigsaw puzzle. Many of its once-profound characteristics had been wiped clean, or partially damaged, from the struggle between itself and the many SWATbots that had been plaguing the area. In the areas that couldn't be replaced, or that were simply -missing-, the resourceful doctor had constructed temporary stand-in parts. Whether it would all hold up long enough for him to get back to home base, however, was still up in the air... Wiping his gleaming brow, the doctor's silky white stache twitched in the breeze, he himself slowly turning at the sound of a familiar tone echoing through the air. With a slight grin, he came to the realization that the voice he was hearing came from none other than his right-hand creation, Maze. Of course, that's not who he -saw- first. No, what he ended up catching sight of right off the bat was a monkeybot (also his right hand, or more technically, his -left-), and two apparent citizens of Soleanna, one of whom he recognized somewhat. ... Prisoners? ... Probably not. Time for the doctor to play it cool, and see just what he could do with this... "... Why, greetings Eiffel! And, er... tumbled passerby. Glorious afternoon, is it not?" ... It's a start.

A sudden giddy squeal of "NEGGY!" burst through the air as Maze spotted her ever-beloved creator, and with all the enthusiasm of a school girl at a boyband concert, the metallix descended upon him and promptly attached herself to his hip. Purring merrily she rubbed her face against him. "Oh, Neggy, you're okay!"

@iron@ When the monkeybot grabbed onto Iron, he could feel himself being thrust along with him. He tried to struggle, but sadly the robot was just too powerful. "No, let me go!" Said the surprised buck, while being forced along. Then they were brought to the very last person Iron would ever want to meet in the worst possible time...Nega himself. "...Oh crap." That's all the poor deer could get out. What in the world could Eiffel want from them? Why would he bother to bring Venice and Iron to his master? All of these questions flowed through Iron's head at once, but was then brought out of his little thought after Nega asked his own question. "Ive seen better days..." Iron mumbled out.

Venice lay on the floor in a great deal of pain and experienced a brief wave of deja-vu before remembering that yes, he had been in a similar situation, and just today, too. My lucky day, he griped silently. Outwardly, a related complaint presented itself. "My everything hurts." He grimaced and attempted to sit up, despite the pain. Then he saw Nega, and felt like lying right back down again. He was in no condition to do anything heroic ( and not much better off even when not covered in bruises, he reminded himself.) So he would have to sit this out. Be an observer. He could do that. Venice propped himself up against a chunk of what he assumed used to be a wall, and waited to see what would happen to him next.

The doctor grinned, a little soot descending from his milky white mustache (as Eiffel happily climbed onto his creator's shoulder and perched like nothing short of a parrot) as he patted a frayed, gloved hand upon Maze's mechanical head. "Ah, and I am pleased to see that you two have made it through this catastrophe unscathed... Unlike myself, but as you know, I -am- made out of stouter material than at first glance... ha ha!" He glanced over to Iron, and the downed Venice, and made his way over to them both. "Introductions seem in order. I don't believe I've seen you before..." He pointed a finger at the buck, and then leveled his gaze onto the injured Venice. "I do have vague knowledge of whom -you- are. Always helping the princess, aren't you..? Such a good boy... However, it looks like, this time around, you weren't able to do much... In actuality, none of us were..." He gave something along the lines of a dark grin as he patted Maze some more. "The threat that came before us was something even -I- was unable to counter, and I know how to fight my battles, boy. It would seem to me that this common enemy is tougher than we all had anticipated." As much as Venice would have disliked it, the doctor made his way closer to the mink, and got on one knee, the smile falling from his face as he looked the goodfellow over, checking what external injuries he may have had, and giving a light touch to his shoulder, arm, chest, legs, just to see what exactly may have been broken, or sprained, and the like... "I do know for certain that another strategy needs to be set... Once I repair my mobile with the temporary pieces around here, I must head back to my base to re-examine the situation... And you both shall come with me. I can better look over your ailments in my own medical facility back home... As well as my own..." Rising to his feet, he glanced at his two right-hand henchbots, and raised an eyebrow. "You two, as well... While you appear perfectly able, I will still have to run a standard check, of course... Can't take any risks, you know..." He chuckled as he walked back over to his downed ship. His monkeybot only nodded slightly, having found interest in a shiny piece of scrap that he had just yanked off of the ground not but a few feet away.

The robocat continued to purr and rub her face and body against Nega's leg affectionately, pausing only when she was addressed. "My system's scans totally check out normal, sweetie," she said. "My armor's taken a total beating though..." And that was when she realized the injured state of her creator. Her eyes widening slightly she turned with a noise that sounded remarkably similar to a gasp and sprung inside the downed negamobile. Poking about in search of the first aid kit, and failing the produce it, she hopped back out and stared up at her creator with a puzzled look. She had to do something for him. ... ... ... Ah ha~ Moving in closer she placed her face plate directly on one of his injuries and proceeded to make a smooching sound.

@iron@ The buck looked at the evil doc's finger as he pointed directly at him for a moment, and felt that it couldn't hurt to introduce himself. "I'm Iron; I work around the castle and...wait wait!" He shook his head, realizing something was completely off. "Hold on, why are you helping us? And whats this about a common enemy? What in the world is going on?!" The poor Buck was unquestionably confused, he was inside the castle all day and only heard about the attacks, but not the attacker's identity. Until now, he had assumed it was Nega, by the looks of his robots walking around. But now he doesn't know what to believe.

His eyes widened. Even Nega couldn't beat these guys? And--they weren't his in the first place? And then with Blaze missing...oh yeah. They were screwed. His tail curled and uncurled in a pensive manner. Venice flinched when the doctor kneeled to inspect him, and growled when he touched his chest, where the worst of the bruises were. But he didn't have the energy to put up any sort of fight, or even move away. So he settled for looking extremely unhappy in Nega's general direction, a sort of failed glower that ended up just looking pained. Part of it was for Metal, who was making him nauseous, even as he tried his hardest to ignore her. What was he-- "You...you want to help us?" the mink croaked. "Why?" He could just as easily leave them there. What possible use could he have for the two of them? There had to be an ulterior motive. Venice very much doubted he was offering medical assistance out of the goodness of his heart.

The doctor chuckled, patting his beloved creation as she 'tended' to his terrible wounds, and he turned his attention to the mink once more, adjusting his flashy pair of shades... "Why help you? The answer is simple; None of us would get anywhere should we go back to butting heads. Yes, I could easily leave you here to die amidst the rubble, as it looks like you're having a hard time faring as it is. The problem with this lies in the fact that if anything -did- happen to you, should your lovely princess find out, the first thing she would do is come right to -my- doorstep, and with all that is going on already, the last thing I need is for her to start causing trouble for -me-. On top of that, I've already promised the King himself that I would be doing my part in this crisis to aid whenever I can... And right now, that happens to be one of those moments." He slowly moseyed back over to his mobile, and got down on one knee, beginning to tinker with the fallen vehicle once more. "Frankly, I know what you're capable of at optimal strength, Venice. What a fool I would be to ignore that when it could help aid our world from this dire threat...! I'm not certain about your little friend, there, but I doubt you would let me leave him, either..." He turned his egghead slightly, mustache blowing in a slight breeze as he grinned. "All uncertainties and ill feelings must be put aside, or else... We all shall burn with the rest of the world." Putting the last touches on his mobile, he shot out a single "HA!", before jumping to his feet and giving the thing a swift -kick-. The mobile immediately resumed functioning, and rightened itself, hovering just a foot or so off of the ground. With vigor that was rather surprising for one his age, the Negaman jumped into the makeshift cockpit of the mobile, and pressed a switch. On either side, two seats constructed themselves, each having enough room for both Iron and Venice separately. "Now... You can choose to come with me, or... choose to come with me. If you attempt to refuse, I will have my henchbots here escort you -personally-. It's quite dangerous out here, and neither of you can fend off another attack like the last one on your own. You -will- be traveling with me. Upon arrival, we will see to your wounds and ailments, and from there, plan our strategies anew about what to do in regards to this recent menace." He glanced over at his two robots, having expected them to hear his order in the event of a refusal. "If they decide to come with us, dear Maze, do see to it that you can carry your brother, hm?" The monkeybot in question was still fiddling with something or another... Man, it was just too -shiny-...

@iron@ When Nega ended his explanation, Iron stood there at a loss. "You mean, King Stonewall..." Iron couldn't believe it. For the king to ask help from Nega of all people, things must be that bad. The buck sighed to himself while thinking. "...I'd rather take my chances here, but I guess we're limited on options right now." After all, Venice is still hurt. And if they stayed there they'd be sitting ducks for another attack. "I'm sorry, Venice. But we should go along with Nega. For now at least."

At the mention of his Gift, the pained look collapsed into a glare. A half-hearted one, but still. Under any other circumstances, any at all, he wouldn't let himself be so blatantly used. But the fact was that these were the circumstances they had to deal with. Even if the doctor was lying, they really didn't have a choice. Nega wasn't going to give them one, the situation wasn't, and unless Blaze showed up right that moment the choice was painfully clear. "I know," he answered the buck as he hauled himself to his feet with a few jerky movements, his eyes never leaving the mad doctor. "Let's get this over with."

"Very well, then. Very well... Let us go, then! I have a secret base of operations not too far from here, deep within the earth. They would have to dig rather hard to get to us, and even then, I have more than several aces up my sleeve... We shall go there, to recover and then lay out our cards on the table!" Assuming that both Iron and Venice had boarded their own little travel compartents, the mad scientist further readied his engines, and, as three windshields respectively covered the occupants, Nega put the thrusters into high gear, and the 'adventurers' were immediately on their way, the distance growing between them and the destruction of the city. (With the assumption that Maze and Eiffel were closely in tow.)
