Snag simply scoffed. "What you did, Marine, I... I wouldn't necessarily call that freakish." She kneeled down and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's remarkable, and—and—" at this point she struggled to find words for that flash of heroism. A few seconds of stammering later, she just gave up the battle. "You know, that was rather heroic. You may have saved someone's life today."

Marine tunred over and looked at Snag. "You.. you think so? " she asked as she wiped the tears from her eyes. She'd never told anyone about her ability, but pretty much the entire village witnessed her using it. "Whatama gunna do, mate? Someone could report me or something..?" Marine was unaware that having these abillites wasn't against the law, heck, even the princess of Soleanna had the ability to manipulate flames.

"Heh. That's why I had to take you home. I didn't want my friend to end up becoming some scientist's guinea pig. How'd you first find out you had such powers, anyway?" She returned to the kitchen, contemplating food. "And you need something to eat. What would you like?"

Friend.. That was a word marine hadn't heard anyone call her for a while. She smiled gently and looked towards Snag. "To be honest, I'm not even sure. It started when I was young. I used to wet the bed a lot apparently, which I didn't understand at all, mate. It turns out it was my ability becomming active. I still didn't know what was going on, but with time, I guess just grew to live with it and only use it when nobody was around." Marine heard the word food and her face lite up. "Golly, that's up to, mate. I dun' wanna be a burdon or anything~"

Snag chuckled gently, searching for the leftover spaghetti she cooked the other day. Rifling through the food, she located the pasta and sauce sealed in two containers, and took them out. "Hardly a burden," she said. "We're having spaghetti if that suits you just fine."

"That'd be bonza, mate!" she replied. Marine could use a home cooked meal, she'd been living off microwave meals and noodles for a long time, not exactly healthy living. She took of her gloves and put them on a nearby table. "You have a very nice place, Snag!" she said as she looked around.

Snag heated the leftover sauce and pasta in the microwave, while listening to Marine complement her house. To Snag, that was a bit overdoing it, considering it was slightly spartan compared to that of Marine's and her parents' home. Indeed, there was a rug, coffee table, a painting, a sofa, a lamp, a television...perhaps her closet was the most interesting place to look through, as it contained her safety equipment, SCUBA gear, and her weapons, in addition to some of her clothing. "Thanks, Marine. It isn't much, but I do my best." Then again, it would be nice to advise Marine about the weaponry in her closet. "Don't go in the closet yet. I've got a couple of weapons in there."

Marine looked confused. She walked into the kitchen and looked at Snag. "Why would you need weapon round 'ere, mate?" She asked. "I didn't know their where any wild animals on the island."

Snag prepared two plates full of spaghetti and sauce and carried it into the living room. "I'll show you. They help me get out of scary situations." Setting the plates down, she walked to her closet and took out what she needed, returning with her three trusty tools. She lifted her pant leg and strapped the diving knife onto her lower leg. "The diving knife, I use whenever I get tangled in something, like seaweed. It's a weapon, yes, but it's a valuable tool as well." Next, she held up her speargun. "This is if some creature comes close to me. I've never had to use this yet, but I've practiced." Finally, she showed off her pistol. "Finally, this is for anyone who tries to jump my claim. Granted, I've never come across anyone like that before, but I refuse to be complacent about something like that."

"Well, those'll come in handy then, mate! Especially when we start diving together." She sat at the table and then turned her attention to the plate of delicous looking foos placed in front of her. "Mmm.. this smells great, Snag! I can't wait to get stuck in!".

"Well, go ahead and eat! Lemme put these away and I'll join you." Snag stowed away the weapons, switched on the television, and started to twirl her fork around the luscious noodles. "Channel 24's showing a pirate movie in a few minutes. Those flicks always enamored me as a child." Those were good times—back when Snag could escape from her tough home life with cinematic adventure and action.

Marine pretty muched dived into the food. It was obvious she hadn't eaten a home cooked meal for quite some time. Her ears pricked at the sound of the word pirate. "Pirates, ya say mate! Sounds like a good film already!" she said as she scooped up them noodles with her fork. "Their's pirates all over this area ya'know? Pilaging treasure for the briny deep" she giggled.

Snag giggled with her. "Come to think of it, I think I did see one while I was on the beach. I guess I'll have to get used to them, huh?" The moment the movie came on, though, all conversation stopped, and their attention focused to the scratchy old film playing on the tube. For Snag, this day was an outlier: all she had was her job and her fortune-hunting prowess. To make a friend, then discover she had a gift with water, was certainly out of the ordinary. No matter: a friend is a friend. They loved the water, good food, and yes, a good pirate movie now and then—and as for Snag, she never took her eyes off the screen.
