"Sweetie, Ah've been around the block," the rabbit said, putting her free hand on her hip and raising a brow at her guest. "An' I know a person who needs a helpin' hand when Ah see one."

"Heh, thanks," Julie replied with genuine relief. "It's always good to hear. There's still a lot I really don't get about people and society and stuff. Not only am I not from here, I'm a little sheltered. Sometimes I feel like an alien when I go out. I can feel how different I am."

"Oh, honey," Bunnie said, suddenly putting down the clay and moving toward Julie. Placing a firm hand on the pangolin's shoulder, she eyed her reassuringly. "Honey, don't let it get to ya'll. Ah know it's difficult, but Ah can tell yer a tough one. Here..." slipping her hand away, Bunnie reached into her hammerspace, pulling out a sketchbook and flipping to a clean page. Scrawling something down on it quickly, she handed over what turned out to be a phone number. "Iffin ya'll have any grief, I want ya'll to call me, okay? I want ya'll to know that you are NOT alone!"

Although she looked rather surprised, Julie still accepted the slip of paper, reading it over a couple of times before folding it and storing it in her pocket. "Wow, thanks. That's awfully nice of you, given how little we know each other." With that, the pangolin rose from her seat. "I should probably get going, though; Crash'll be wondering what's keeping me if I don't hit the road soon, and he's impossible when he gets into one of his moods."

Frowning over the thought of this poor girl returning to that awful brute, Bunnie withheld her protest, merely nodding. "Ah understand, hon. Just be careful," she said, walking her guest to the door. Pushing her concern aside, she gave a warm smile. "Feel free to drop by any time ya'll feel like it, okay?"
