She'd seen Axe at this game before- it never got any less irritating. But she did her best to help him. It was a shame the spider was going to get robbed, but... in the end, it was down to us or them, and Luna's choice was always 'us'. "Yeah, and you're smart too. All that computer stuff? Me and Axe couldn't do anything like that..." She widened her eyes and acted as sweet and cute as possible.

Axe nodded in agreement, bringing his other hand up to caress the spider's face. "Brains and beauty. Not a bad combo, if I do say so myself."

THAT got a reaction, the unexpected physical contact making her jolt a little, as she blushed deeply. "I... uhm..."

The hyena simply grinned at the girl's blushing as he brought his other hand down and brushed it along her side. Outwardly, his grin seemed every bit like a romantic ploy and very Casanova-esque. Inwardly, however, he was grinning because he had the spider exactly where he wanted her, and was now using the hand that was playfully touching her side to carefully reach into her hammerspace. "So what do you say, Anansi? Would you like to be partners in crime?"

Anansi seemed completely caught, blushing as she pushes back against the wall, before one word registered. An odd one, but one she wasn't a fan of. "Partners" In moments, her eyes narrowed, and she moved under Axe's arm. "I work alone."

Luna frowned a little bit, sensing that Axe was about to lose control of the situation. "Well, so do I... but for him, I make an exception. You won't be disappointed, Anansi. Axe is the real deal."

If Axe was concerned about losing control of the situation, he certainly wasn't showing it. Instead, he simply moved his hand with Anansi, "affectionately" tickling her lightly in the side as a distraction as he reached back to begin pickpocketing her proper. "Indeed. I usually work alone myself, but I'd be willing to upgrade to partners full-time for a radiant little arachnid like you. Tell me: Are you always this pretty, or do you just doll up for those special occations you go outside?"

Beginning to flush faintly at the tickle, and trying to pull away, Anansi paused as the new compliment registered, before her eyes flitted up to look him in the face, a little incredulously. "Y-you're up to something. I can tell... I don't like secrets. It's part of why I do what I do."

Axe chuckled and smiled, giving her puppy-dog eyes. "Daw, what's the matter? How can you not trust a face like this?" He brought up his hand to brush her bangs behind her ear (... she has ears, right?). "And speaking of faces, you really shouldn't hide yours. It accentuates the rest of your slender little frame quite nicely." At the same time, the hyena was retracting his other hand from said 'slender little frame' and brought it back to his side, moving her wallet and... something else from her hammerspace to his.

Behind Anansi, and out of her view, Luna made a little gesture. She tapped an invisible watch on her wrist and rolled her eyes. Axe was taking far too long and enjoying hitting on this chick far too much. Just get the stuff and go, already...

Surprisingly, out of everything else Axe had done in the process of violating Anansi's personal space... Brushing her hair out of her eyes, a rather intimate gesture, was the proverbial straw, and her nerves, already strained to a near-breaking point by being caught like this, was the camel. Instinctively, she thrusted out with her hands, to push the hyena away, as she shivered from her nerve failing her. "St-stop touching me!" She squeaked, before springing straight up, and over the wall, and out of sight.

Axe stumbled backwards from the shove, but regained his balance just in time to watch Anansi leap over the wall. He was a little disappointed that his con ended so... suddenly, but hey, if she left with her nerves frayed so much, that just meant it'd be longer before she noticed she was missing some things, right? "Well... That was unexpected," Axe chuckled, "Guess we know who won that battle of wills, hmm?" Still, he couldn't deny that there was... some strange ammount of allure to her. That, or he just got in-character for the con a bit too much. Either way, it wasn't worth thinking about. After all, it's just business.

Luna waited to speak until she was good and sure Anansi was gone. Then: "Laying it on a little thick, weren't you? Two seconds more and she would have busted you." She huffed, walking over with hands on her thin hips. "Did you at least get any rings out of her?"

The hyena simply shrugged off the cat's comment with another chuckle as he reached into his hammerspace. " To reason rightly one must be neither in love nor in anger; for those two passions reduce us to the level of animals; and unfortunately we are never so much inclined to reason as when we are agitated by one or the other of them," he replied, clearly sounding as though he was quoting someone, "She could've either kissed me or decked me, I wouldn't really care, just so long as she got worked up enough to not notice the con." On cue, he held up a wallet that was quite clearly not his and tossed it to Luna. "Here you go. A little sweet revenge for her besting you at your card game." After handing the main prize over, Axe took a moment to look at the other thing he managed to pilfer off the spider. It was a small, metalic object, round in shape but flat on both sides. It had a small antenna and a computer screen of some sort in the front. Must've been some sorta smart phone or something. In any case, Axe shoved it back into his hammerspace, since he knew Luna would have little use for it. He could always try to sell it to a pawn shop later.

"I didn't understand a word you just said. And you're always quoting people. Why can't you just say what you mean instead of taking words out of someone else's mouth?" She paused, rifling through the wallet, chucking credit cards and other identifitcation and going straight for the rings. "And who would want to kiss you?" Pay dirt. She put her newfound rings into her own hammerspace, then unceremoniously dumped the wallet over the railing of the building they were on. "That's an interesting cell phone you swiped. Should get good money for it."

"Yeah, looks like it's one of those Smart Phones I keep hearing people ramble about," the hyena replied, ignoring Luna's first two questions as he began to walk over to one of the walls between the patio and the street on the other side, "they see a bunch of pointless apps they decide they absolutely need, I see o300 worth of eletronics in an easy-to-swipe form. Either way, I expect to get a lot out of this thing." After a moment's pause to study the wall in front of him, Axe backed up and once again ran up it. This time, however, he didn't vault all the way over the wall, instead stopping so he could stand on the top of it and look back down at Luna. "You go spend those hard-stolen rings on a nice dinner, I'm gonna try and catch up with Lance. Meet back up at our usual spot?"

"You got it, big bro." She bounded over the little fence that enclosed the miniature garden, easily balancing herself on the thin railing in a careful crouch. "If the pawn shop owner's a girl, try and keep it in your pants, huh?" And she bailed over the wall, and started leaping over rooftops.

"Har, har, very funny... I don't even wear pants..." With a light snort, Axe jumped off the other side of the wall and walked down the street. He needed to catch up on old times with a certain son-of-a-gun wolf, and he knew exactly where he'd be...

Meanwhile, in her haste to get away from the hyena, Anansi nearly rand down a wolf dressed in a black suit, who she would recognize as Inari a second later as he spoke up. "Well at least you didn't decide to go hide somewhere," he muttered. Not that she could have, as up til then he'd been using his own communicator to track hers, thus leading him to her. "I hope you were doing something interesting with your time, at least," he said, a hint of anger at her 'bugging out', as it were, on him still lingering, though the small walk it'd taken to reach her had allowed him to cool down a bit.

Anansi, in a massive display of 'unimpressed and frazzled', just strode past Inari once she recognized it was him, her cheeks... faintly pink as she grabbed his arm, and kept walking. "W-we're going home." She paused, with a tiny glance back, then sped up. "Now."

Unprepared for that reaction, Inari was unable to do anything but follow. "That's a switch," he mused, pulling his arm away. "What happened to you?"

"I didn't 'lose' Lance. The bastard decided to wander off after I ordered him back to base. He'll probably turn up tommorow drunk or at least hungover...or we'll have to go break him out of a lockup...probably the latter."

"...Yes, I suppose that would work as well," he admitted. "Though we'd still probably have to go pick him up either way. And since you've thoroughly deflected the topic from whatever happened with you, I suggest that we return to base before something else goes wrong."

Just stopped for a long moment, looking back at Inari as she grumbled. "That's what I was trying to do in the first place."

"Really? Then you must have forgotten about the warp rings already." He took his out and activated it with a flip. He put one foot through before turning back to her. "Of course...unless you want to try and walk back to base..."

The spider frowned, glancing back before she shrugged, and stepped through the ring. "Hmph. And I'd get to see you explaining that to the Doc when I got back." Crossing her arms, Anansi then glanced out of the still open ring... and blushed very faintly, before she turned away, to head back to her quarters.
