"Haha, nice to meet you! Umm," he winced, "Handshake might not be a good idea..." he raised an arm to his chest and rubbed its blade nervously.

Tails nodded a little, withdrawing his hand, he looked at the blades on the mantis's arms. "Those sure do look sharp. I guess it's understandable you have accidents." He picked up the severed wing again and ran his fingers over the membrane.

" ... Heh... yeah..." he quickly turned his focus to the now broken window "I hope that kid'll be okay. He was in pretty bad shape. Ah, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though!" he paused, looking around, suddenly nervous again ."Um, you don't mind me hanging around until the blue guy gets back with any news do you?"

Tails shook his head. "Make yourself at home. I'll just get on with fixin' these." The fox turned back to the wing pack and looked it over lovingly. Even though he could only see the outside at the moment, it appealled to him. There was something elegant about the elongated oval of the main backpack. The wing joints looked so fragile, but they were surprisingly robust if they could lift a person off the ground. He snagged up his goggles and put them on his forehead, just in case a welding torch was required, and started to examine the broken wing closely. He frowned a little as he put a finger to the severed edge, looking at the clear fluid on his fingers, rubbing it between a finger and thumb thoughtfully.

Scythe nodded his thanks and took to sitting on the floor, probably the only place he could be where he was least likely to cause any trouble. His eyes drifted around lazily, muttering barely audible thoughts to himself as he did so. He'd never been in a workshop before. It had a funny smell to it, a strong scent of grease and rubber.

Tails set about angling the broken wing so it was held firmly in a vice, then brought the severed piece to it. When he set the two, slightly gummy edges together and then pulled them apart, he could feel the resistance. The gel must be a kind of bonding agent, to help repair the wings should they get splits or tears. He thrilled internally at the idea of self repairing machines. How useful this technology would be on the Tornado, not to mention dozens of other creations littered about the lab.

Around that time, a train pulled into the station close to Tails' lab. There was no one on board however. They had all gotten off the train when Eri entered. Eri stepped off the train looking amused with himself, and strolled up towards Tails' Lab, unknowingly triggering a perimeter alarm.

Tails pricked his ears when he heard an alarm sound over his moniter. He looked over at the red flashing light curiously, then left the bandaged wing (splinted to keep it immobile while the bonding agent did its work) and walked over, turning on the monitor. The exterior cameras picked up the intruder and he frowned. "Hey, S-Scythe, is that guy a friend of yours?" he asked, tails working themselves over each other agitatedly.

"Hmm?" Scythe, having been distracted with his own trailing thoughts, looked up from his little world at the sound of Tails' voice. Picking himself up off the ground he glanced at the monitor. "Nobody I know..." he said slowly, his fluttering out in alarm.

Eri noticed his claws were perhaps in need of a sharpening. He had been climbing on a building before, which dulls them quickly. Should he need to climb again he'd need to make sure they were in shipshape. He stuck each hand into a nearby tree and scraped them a few times. The tree fell behind him and he pressed on, noticing a small building ahead. "There. That looks promising." he said, and started towards it.

Tails paused to think for a moment when he saw the tree fall on his moniter, listening to the corresponding crash outside. "... I think we should run." He grabbed up a few items, especially his tool belt, clipping it diagonally over his chest so the tools wouldn't interfere with his tails, and he picked up the wing pack. Having nowhere else to keep it, he shouldered that too, then pressed a button on the coffee machine. Several worktables suddenly flipped down into the floor, revealling a round hatch which hissed as it opened. Tails pushed the wings into a more streamlined position, nodding to Scythe. "You go first, just keep crawling until you feel a wall ahead of you, then climb up the ladder and pop the hatch above. it'll bring us out in the woods."

Scythe looked between the monitor and the broken window, then felt his wings flutter again and stand out straight behind him. "... That's probably not a bad idea," he glanced at the narrow tunnel "But I'm gonna slow us down is I go first. I'm not exactly built for um," he gulped. " Tight spaces"

Tails nodded, crawling into the tunnel, looking down under his arm. "when you get in, just pull it shut behind you with your foot, it'll lock and hide automatically." He pointed his head forward again and crawled forth, making room for Scythe to enter.

Scythe watched as the kit entered the tunnel, then got down on his knees to follow suite. Given the awkward nature of his arms he couldn't very well crawl on his hands and knees, so he found himself in an awkward position on his side pushing himself forward, mumbling rapidly about everything from his discomfort, to the weird creature outside, to how he should have been more careful around that vase when he was a kid. As soon as he reached the end he scrambled up the latter, pulling the hatch shut as he was instructed. "That wasn't pleasant," he rubbed his side in addition to his already sore bottom. "Where are we?"

"The tunnel leads into the Mystic Ruins. I made it just in case Eggman or his creations decided to attack my lab. There's nothing of use in there right now. Only Sonic's toaster. Oh." Tails stopped, looking worried. "Oh dear. I forgot to deactivate the anti-aircraft missile system. I hope the intruder doesn't look in the slots ..."

The praying mantis tilted his head to one side. He didn't really understand what Tails was suddenly so worried about. "That... wouldn't be a good thing?"

When Eri got to the house, he noticed that the window was broken, the door beam had been cut in half, and no one was inside. The trail was a dead end. "Curses." He kicked the door slightly, wondering what to do.

On the counter, there is a small beep as the soldering iron declares itself to be sufficiently heated for use.

Eri glanced at the noise. An iron was left on inside, and the sound indicated that the device was turned on...recently. Something was amiss, but he didn't want to take too many chances. The window was already broken, he climbed in that way.

There was a smell of coffee in the air and clutter around a studio table with diagrams of a toaster on the paper.

With the number os times Sonic had been on the news, and TV, with his renown, his name was known. The words "Sonic's Toaster" ((XD)) meant only that that troublesome blue hedgehog was a resident of this...place. Along with his buddy Tails. Eri was about to leave to return to the hospital when ne noticed an unusual button on the counter. When press it revealed a secret hole in the floor. "Hide and seek eh?" And then he climbed into the hole. It was a tight fit.

"So uh..." Scythe took to dusting himself off, slightly more relaxed now that he was considerably less worried about breaking something. "What do we do now?"

(ooc: yeah, the entrance may only be revealed by tapping the coffee pot three times, clicking your ruby heels and declaring there is 'no place like Frome' (okay, that was a lie, you have to press the red button, but STILL!)) Tails closed the hatch behind them and swung the artifical bushes back around to cover it up again. "Now? Gee, I dunno." The fox tapped his muzzle with his hand for a moment as he thought, then he nodded sharply. "We should go see how that friend of yours is doing." He smiled.

((Didn't see anything saying the hole was closed (Have I gone blind? O.o) so he found it.)) The hole was too tight. It caused Eri great distress. In his anxiety, with a steady hum, a red shape slowly appeared on his chest and began to glow. ((CARE BEARS!!!)) He should've just gone around. He groaned and growled a little in his struggle before realizing that anyone on the other end might have heard him. "Brilliant. I'll bet I'm walking into a trap."

(you have, yes, Scythe closed it behind him, XD. Never mind, we can work with this) Tails flicked an ear back towards the bush, he could have sworn he heard something. Well, tunnels had a habit of carrying all sorts of noises. He shook his head and wound his tails, kicking off the ground. "Let's get out of here."

When Eri finally reached a wall, he looked upwards. Something was flying away...Had someone been using Zizzle's wings? That would pose a problem. He climbed up out of the hole, and began searching upwards. He didn't see anyone, but he could tell he wasn't alone. "Come out whoever you are. I just want to talk." Then he muttered under his breath, "for now..."

Tails was pleased to note the wing pack was incredibly light, he barely even knew he was wearing it. He motioned to Scythe to follow and set course to Station Memorial quickly.

With the spinning of tails and the flapping of wings, Scythe and Tails were flying off. Eri could not see exactly who they were. Eri could not fly, so there was no way he could catch the two blots flying off in the distance. His chances of gaining Zizzle's trust were flying away into the skies. Someone was going to have to take the heat from Eri's ire. The only clues he had were the fact that 1. He knew who Sonic was (who doesn't) 2. He knew someone was working on a toaster for Sonic and 3. Sonic was sleeping in the lobby of the hospital he had just come from. Eri didn't even know if Zizzle knew where his wings were anyway. The entire chase could have all just been pointless and excessive, and over so much as a toaster. Still the fact remained that someone had been here, and had used a very suspicious means of leaving. Coincidence? Possibly. The house looked like it had been broken into. Eri had too many questions and only one lead. Besides, whoever lived here would have to give that toaster back to Sonic eventually. Eri had his suspicions, but he felt the need to ask...personally. Eri began trekking towards the train intent on a meeting with the blue hedgehog.
