The hyena watched and quickly recognized the person the grey wolf was now talking to as the same spider girl he saw earlier. No wonder something seemed off about her, she was traveling around with these guys! And it looked like she actually managed to beat Luna at her little card game. Well now, he certainly couldn't let that stand, now could he? ... Though attempting to rectify the situation in front of that wolf would probably end poorly. He needed to get her away from him... "So..." the hyena began, leaning over to Lance, "Who's the spider? Needed some eye candy to balance out Mr. Grumpy-Pants?"

The teal wolf only laughed. "Eh, those two are their own thing. I only tagged along for some fresh air. Besides," he grinned, knowing his voice was loud enough for Inari and Anansi to hear. "It's fun to watch the two try to out-bitch each other."

Anansi laughed a little at that, turning towards Lance and Axe. "I dunno, I think he's got me beat there. I mean, being a dog, and pretty much neutered, he's halfway to 'bitch' already." The spider smirked, glancing at Inari, before her attention shifted to Axe. "Who're you?"

"No one important," Inari answered before anyone else could say anything. "Now, we've wasted enough time here, let's go. Lance can do what he likes." He wasn't in the mood to 'convince' the other wolf to come along...but if he did end up saying anything to compromise the Legion, well, he'd need a few new cybernetics, minimum.

Axe snorted at the spider's retort. For someone so... small, she certainly seemed like she had a lot of spunk. He secretly hoped she was just talking a big game and was really as much as a pushover as her size implied, though. He was really looking foward to an easy, damsel-in-distress-type target after that koala and that otter went all action girl on his tail. Upon hearing the wolf's answer, however, the hyena quickly turned to him. "Now, now, Lance and I have caught up on old times, and your spider friend here appears to have won some rings in that game. I don't believe anyone's time has been wasted here except for your own, and I'm sure that's something none of us particularly care about. It looks like you're the odd man out... If that wasn't already made obvious by the fact that you're clearly the only one here who has a wit duller than the flat side of a 2-by-4." With that said, Axe stepped away from the grey wolf and began approaching the spider girl, hoping to subtly create some distance between her and the wolf. "As for me, my name is Axe," he replied to the girl's original question, "I'm an acquaintance of Lance's and, apparently, someone who does not have the right connections to aquire a posse consisting of the world's grumpiest emo and a girl who somehow manages to be attractive despite having four extra arms. Where can I get an entourage like that, huh?" Yes, he may have slipped a compliment to the girl somewhere in that dialogue. He hoped that she would pick up on that and take the bait.

Unfortunatly, Inari was going to give the bait a chance to even reach the trap. "Given your past with Lance, its understandable that you may not have understood what I'm saying," he said, interposing himself between Axe and Anansi. "So allow me to make it perfectly clear..." As he glared at the hyena, he quickly used his his interface with his cybernetics to shut down the holographics over his eyes for just a second, letting the black and bright red irises of his true eyes show through to him for just a moment. "Go. Away. Now."

Inari quickly found Lance right in his face, the artic wolf's stunt not having gone unnoticed. "Hey ^$%#face," Lance snarled. "Why don't you pull that %#$!ing stick out of where you've got it rammed and change your tampon before I give all these lovely people a reason to stare at you, ah?"

The spider girl frowned up at the canine's back, her eyes narrowing a little before, after directing her mechanical elbow into Inari's back, a failed shot at his spine. She was... blushing a tiny bit,, crossing her arms as she moved to stand a short distance from her two fellow DLers. "I dunno about you, Inari, but I actually enjoy getting some fresh air now and then. you wanna be pissy, do it somewhere else, we have all !@#%ing day."

Unfortunatly for both of them, but Lance especially since he was the one currently in front of him, Inari's tolerance of their insubordination had reached its limit. With a snarl, Inari let loose an underhanded punch with his right arm, directly into Lance's gut. [dice=6][rand=710481846224372182973319531066555233130715193221908686568265878]

[dice=6] Fortunately, Lance had already been expecting the short-tempered wolf's assault, catching Inari's fist with his mechanical arm and holding it above the much smaller thrope's head. Of course, Axe found his approach cut short when he suddenly had an artic wolf in his face. He was about to make another sharp retort when he suddenly noticed the wolf's eyes flicker. It was only for a moment, but it was enough to silence the hyena as he tried to figure out what the heck just happened. Did his eyes just suddenly go full-on evil for a second, or did he just imagine that? However, he didn't have very long to ponder that as both the spider girl and Lance promptly told Inari (so that was his name... at least, according to the girl it was...) where he could shove it. Next thing he knew, Inari was trying to sucker-punch Lance, who countered by... ... Oh gosh, did he just say that? Did he really just say that? The hyena's mind raced. Lance certainly didn't know it, but he was right in that there was a pickpocket in their mists... unfortunately, it was him. He needed to do something fast, or else this entire job was about to go under. He quickly shifted his position so that he could see Luna. Once she was in his view, he made a quick cutting motion across his throat, trying to let her know that the con was finished. That done, he turned back to Inari. Oh, this was gonna be fun. "HE'S RIGHT! CHECK YOUR POCKETS, EVERYONE! THE GREY WOLF STOLE FROM YOU!" As the crowd began to pause and check for their belongings, the hyena quickly followed this up by attempting to play the hero and "stop" the thief... by grabbing the wolf by the shoulder and delivering a swift kick to Inari's balls. Hopefully, the spider girl was lying when she said he was already neutered, because he really wanted to do it himself. [dice=6] This wasn't just to vent out some frustration on the obnoxious wolf, however. At the same time, Axe quietly slipped a couple of the wallets he had previously stolen into Inari's hammerspace. He hadn't had time to remove anything of interest from them yet, but... it was a small price to pay to plant some evidence on the guy while making off with the rest of the loot.[rand=94054240057653816872375889419124874912754198599914286192250771557]

Oh crap. Luna had taken her eyes from the cards, to watch Axe mingle with some strangers. That spider girl had been among them- maybe he was trying to get a little more swag out of them, somehow... But then she saw fists going. And then he gave her the cut- and - run signal. In under a minute, Luna stopped shuffling, scooped away the rings into her hammerspace, dropped the folding table down into an easily portable square, and waved at her most unlucky customer. "Whoops, sorry, game's over, all bets are final, thanks for playing, gotta run, see you never!" Then she backed up, then fled into the nearest alley. Her quick claws found cracks in the brick wall, and she climbed, right up to the roof of the building. Thus, out of sight from the crowd, she watched Axe from above. "Crap, those better not be cops..."

[dice=6] "You ignorant morons..." *FAWOOSH* With a burst of flame, the jets in Inari's feet ignited, adding to the force of the leap he had already been making. He yanked his arm out of Lance's grip as he leapt over him. He landed and quickly spun around, facing the others and the oncoming crowd. "You think this is a game? You think I'm a joke?" he asked, a dangerous tone in his voice as he addressed Axe and the other two legion members. The now angry crowd didn't concern him. They were all meaningless. Drones of the government that couldn't be bothered to pull their heads out of their tails to see the world for what it was...but they may serve a use as an example.[rand=9908816409969987650514422762584327877462363853167776394426687627]

Luna couldn't help but stare as the strange wolf poured fire out of his feet. Axe was still down there... but so were a lot of other people. ...Distraction? "RUN LIKE HELL, THAT GUY IS NUTS!" She belted at the top of her lungs, well hidden on the roof.

"That will be enough." The voice was deep, commanding... And caused the crowd to freeze, turning towards the source, a towering elephant, almost a mammoth in appearance, in fact, clad in a suit... and flanked by a quartet of bears, a grizzly, a black bear, a sun bear, and a panda. The bears were quiet, eyes fixed on the three DLers, and Axe, before looking at the elephant. Who simply signaled with a hand, and all four bears had guns trained on Inari. "Axe, is it? How do you always seem to be in trouble every time I see you?" The crowd, as the bears drew guns, and the elephant spoke, quickly dispersed, soon leaving only him, his entourage, Axe, the DLers, and Luna on the roof. "And you. I would suggest you stay put, unless you have an addiction to lead."

Axe didn't have any time to respond to Inari's jet-assisted dodge or his most likely retoric question before a very familar voice managed to disfuse the crowd and address him. Letting out a pained sigh, he turned around to confirm that, yes, he was currently being addressed by the leader of the Underground Syndicate himself... His boss, whether he liked to admit it or not. "Well now, thank Chaos you're here..." Axe began, his sarcastic tone doing a very good job masking his fear, "It appears I've been saved from Mike Myers by Vito Corleone. So tell me, Mogul..." he paused to motion to the bears surrounding him, "Do you have so many bodyguards now that you organize them by species? Because, in my most humble of opinions, I think you should've picked your wolf group for this one. It'd be far more thematically appropiate."

"Yeah, actu--" the ethiopian wolf paused mid-sentence at the familiar voice and even more familiar sound of guns being cocked. Glancing toward the group standing in the alley opening, he made several double takes between them and Inari to make sure it was the other wolf they were pointing at and not him. Despite the affirmation, it gave him no peace of mind. "See that, freakshow?" he said, giving a 'now see what you've done' glare to the other legionnaire. "That's your temper coming back to bite your ass."

An odd clicking sound came from the wolf's arm. "Keep it up moron," he growled at Lance, "And whatever happens here you'll go first." He blamed the other wolf for this anyway. If he'd just listened to orders, and taken a hint, they probably wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. He then, slowly, turned around to face the newcomers. "...Can we help you?" he asked, somewhat condescendingly. At the same time, he had brought up a combat HUD in his optics and was prioritizing targets on the 'off chance' this didn't go well.

"Yes. -You- can help by leaving. I don't tolerate individuals causing unneeded trouble in my territory, nor does anyone working below me. As for your... friends." The elephant motioned to Lance and Anansi. "I have no issue with them. The can stay or go as they wish." The Mammoth Mogul, through this, sounded bored, as if dealing with something like this personally was... below his interest. Or maybe it was just Inari that was below his interest. And Anansi noticed, snickering a little. "Jeeze, Inari. You just piss off everybody, don't you?" The spider looked at the elephant, wondering just who this person was. The name 'Mogul" didn't ring any bells.

"Interesting, considering if my...associates could obey orders, we'd have left long before now," Inari said with a slight growl, directed at said associates. "However, you are presuming much if you believe you can issue orders to me."

"... Yeah. ^%$# this. I'm bailing if this is gonna turn ugly," Lance said, slowly lifting up his arms as though to shield himself. He might have yelled something for Inari to shut up, or perhaps even laughed and made a snarky remark at his choice of words. But honestly? He preferred to keep his pelt intact, and a few extra holes in the other wolf would do him some good.

Luna watched the situation unfold from her safety spot on the rooftop. Man, what she wouldn't give for that kinda respect. That guy had just showed up and everything had stopped dead. Well, maybe 'dead' wasn't the best choice of words, considering the amount of firepower the elephant had. "Come on, big bro... get outta there, come on..." She kept her eyes trained on Axe.

"Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with Lance on this one. As much as I'd love to see you..." the heyna pointed at Mogul and his bear body guards, "Pump him..." he pointed at Inari "Full of lead, or conversely, you..." he pointed at Inari again, "Do... Whatever the heck you think you're going to do to a bunch of heavily armed thugs... to them..." he pointed at Mogul and the gang one last time, "There's just one little, tiny problem: I'm currently between you two, and being caught in crossfire would kinda ruin my day just a tad. So, if you'll excuse me..." Axe began to look around and address each person individually. "Lance, it was nice seeing you again. Inari, I can't wait to dance and spit on your grave. Mogul, I actually kinda like you right now so I'll spare you my usual reply that involves gratuitous use of a certain finger. And you..." He paused as he looked at the spider girl again. He never really did get to talk to (or steal from her) much, did he? Heck, he didn't even get her name. Eh, oh well. It wasn't like he was probably going to see her again, anyway. Instead, he simply put his right hand next to his head like it was a phone. "... Call me." And with that, he turned and began to walk out of this mess before he could get caught in the middle of it.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but now you're the one wasting time here, while being threatened by a bunch of guys who seem to want to blow your PMSing tail away." The spider paused, glancing at Axe as he addressed her, and blinked in mild surprise. "I don't even know your... whatever." The spider grumbled, then, realizing she was a little too close to Inari, moved over next to Lance. Out of the line of fire. Through Inari's response, and Axe's rather... unique parting words, Mogul seemed... bored, gripping his cane a little tighter, before he just snorted. "I don't believe you comprehend your situation quite as well as your companions do, so allow me to explain this in small words you can understand." The elephant took a single step forward, eyes narrowing as his thugs actually shied away from him, seeming... frightened of the larger thrope, or terrified, and hiding it VERY well. "You are on my turf, and if you do not leave, I will have you killed, and dispose of your body in such a way that your loved ones, which I doubt you have, will never have any idea what exactly happened to you."

If Inari was intimidated, at all, he didn't show it. Instead, he broke into a smirk. "'Turf.' A rather simplistic term for someone who seems to fancy himself as important, don't you think?" In the meantime, he was working his interface again, tapping into his legion communicator... "But very well, we'll leave your 'turf,'" he said, his tone on the word turf sounding like he was laughing at a joke. "As I said, though apparently you didn't understand, we should have left already." Meanwhile, Anansi would get a text message that would flash across her optics. ON MY SIGNAL, SET OFF ALL CELL PHONES IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. Inari wasn't sure how many or if any of them actually had cell phones, but given this day and age, he's be willing to safely assume at least half did, and if this pompous pachyderm in front of him didn't, he'd dye his robes pink.

The spider girl blinked, then looked at Inari, before she frowned, closing her eyes for a moment as she figured out how to respond. And her response was rather blunt as it appeared in Inari's optics. DO IT YOURSELF. YOU STARTED THIS.That 'said', she then looked up at Lance. "Let's get outta here. I'd rather not be a material witness." Mogul... actually chuckled softly, his eyes narrowed as he glanced at Anansi and Lance, then focused back on Inari. "It seems your own companions see fit to abandond you. I can't say that I blame them. After all, if one of my allies were to behave like you are now, I'd have had him executed for being an... unacceptable risk".

"Whew..." As soon as she saw Axe get away from those crazy people, and the elephant with the bear mob, she breathed out a sigh of utter relief. Then she fled from her spot, taking the high road after Axe. That had been too close- good thing there were gonna be plenty of rings for both of them. She could go to ground for a while, lay low and relax for a week. That was just... too much. @origami@ " This can't be the hospital...." A map dropped away from a panda's face. She took one look at the alley in front of her- with very large thugs with very large guns, at the strange looking people being aimed at.... turned tail and broke into a dead run.

"Yeah, sounds like a plan," the wolf nodded, before glancing off in the direction Axe was headed. "Yo Axe, keep in touch, you sorry asshole!" turning his focus back to Anansi, he motioned to offer her a hooked elbow... before he remembered their significant differences in height. Shrugging and putting the arm back to his side, he began to mosey off.

"And yet, on that same note, you'd have them killed for disobeying you," Inari responded with an eyeroll. "Now please, save yourself the pain of thinking up yet more insults. As I said, we're going." He turned, slowly, to go, keeping an eye on the goons in case they made a hostile move against him. In the meantime, he was already considering how to get the doctor to view the replacement work the doctor was going to need to do on his 'companions' in favorable light...

Mogul's parting words were... cryptic at best, before he signaled his 'guards' to leave as he walked away the other direction. "No, disobedience is punished with far worse." Anansi, meanwhile... headed off a different direction from Lance. She had one of the Rings after all, so she could get back to the base. She just... didn't feel like listening to Inari. Even more than usual. Today's events had just proven to her that he had a serious inferiority complex, so desperately attempted to make himself seem better than he was. She wasn't in the mood to listen to that.
