Angel Island Airspace- Military Toll

The blue skies, a realm itself when you soar there, was now occupied by a small blue bi-plane, the Tornado 2; Tails' pride and joy. However, his pride and joy was not piloted by himself, but a large purple walrus. On the wing was a white and angry koala, sitting Indian style on it. And on the back seat was the famous, and sometimes infamous by jealous fan-girls, Amy Rose.



"You stand out...above the crowd! Even if I got to shout it out! 'Til mine is the only face you'll see! Gonna stand out ..."

(A cookie for whoever can guess this song and where it's from ^^)


"...Till you notice me, yeeaah!" Rotor sang quietly as he drove the plane. Yeah, Tails will be furious to hear that his plane was...'borrowed', but it was a once in a lifetime and a exciting experience to fly the Tornado.


Growling, Barby rolled her eyes. "Rotor...can you please turn off that crap?"


With a smile as he happily closed his eyes at her, "Barby!...Why must you damper everyone's spirits so?"


"It's a gift."

As for their psychotic pink passenger, she sat in the passenger seat, fidgeting every once in a while, for she was rather impatient. She wanted to get to that other world as soon as possible, if only so she could mob the controlls to this silly plane and go marching after Sonic with it.

"Well, as long as we're still flying, I'm fine." Amy added.

[Lans]

Suddenly the sky seemed to get darker. It was then that they would notice the GUN airship bearing down on them, the reason for the darkness being that they were passing through its shadow. The Tornado's radio crackled to life: "Unidentified craft, you have entered restricted airspace! You will change course to land on this vessel immediatly or you will be fired upon. Acknowlage."

"W-W-Wha the heck is that???" he cried, startled by the massive size of the airship.


Drawing out a hockey stick, "Oy, give me a break! Who they think they are?"


Rotor set the radio to respond. "Uh...who is this?"

[Lans]

"This is the GUN airship, Hawking. This is your final warning. Change course to land here, or be destroyed!"

Amy blinked. Unidentified? The TORNADO TWO? What rock have these creeps been hiding under? Amy thought, glaring at the aircraft. As she looked it over, she noticed a perculiar emblem on the ship.... a very FAMILIAR emblem. Amy's eyes widened, and she pointed it out to the two others with her.

"That's one of GUN's ships!" she exclaimed.

Rotor felt unsettling nerves in his stomach. "So t-they said, Amy. The radar says we're here at the portal; I should've known the government would try to keep it off-limits. I don't know what to do, guys. I don't feel right about disobeying the governme-"

Barby glared down at him, aiming her stick at him "I don't care if the friggin queen of the world tells us to go 'ome! We are going to get Mina, and we are going to get her NOW!!"

She aimed her stick beyond their destination, like a captain aboard a ship. "So get this tub moving, or else!!"

Well it's obvious what was more dangerous. Since he's flying a plane with two short-tempered women, chances of surviving their wrath was less likely than surviving GUN. Quickly, Rotor checked the computer to figure out how to make the plane fly faster. There was battle mode, but it was only one-seated; Amy will get squished. So he'll just have to increase more power in the thruster. "Oh boy...I'm not gonna like this. Hang on, girls!"


"HEY!!!" she cried when the plane almost threw her off as it blasted off. Barby quickly held onto the wing for dear life.

Seeing their waring ignored, the ship wasted no time in making good on its threat. Powerful guns, already pointed their way, let loose with blasts that sounded like thunder. At the same time a trio of jet fighters launched from one of the ship's hangers.

"DO A BARREL ROLL!!!"

Rotor pulled the stick to the side, making the blue plane roll around the incoming bombs.


"I'M SO GONNA SUE THOSE JERKS!!!" she cried, gripping the wing, dearly. When the plane set itself straight again, Barby noticed the jet fighters on their tail. "Rotor!! We got company!!"


"I know that!!" Rotor pulled down the stick to the right, flying the plane a little under the ship; right about the edge of the belly. [rand=4999158875299203366691103154642867269397679349868017177776912652376]

Amy's quills were in a goofy disarray after the plane rolled around and around, and she tried her best not to look sick from the G-forces. How could Tails stand this stuff?

"Hey! Those jets are headed for us!" Amy yelled over the wind, "Shoot 'em down!"

The fighters came streaking in, their laser cannons letting loose with a trio of deadly sprays.

BLAM! A shot hit the top wing on the right while the other shots soared over their heads.



Yelping while gripping the wing with one hand, Barby used her free hand to smack the fire with her hockey stick. "Do what Pinko says, Happy-Teeth!!"

"B-But those people in those jets! I'm not gonna kill-"

"THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL US!!!"

Closing his eyes, Rotor whined and prayed to whatever god to forgive him for this.

Pulling the stick back, the plane swooped up; Barby screaming as kept clinging onto the wing. "Rotor, where do you learn this stuff??" she screamed, while they were upside-down.

"Video games KICK!!!"

"Remind me to kiss them...and KILL you!!"

As the Tornado dived behind the jets, Rotor locked on to them. Pleaaaase have ejector seats, guys!

His thumb shakily pressed the fire-button; three homing shots blasted straight for their targets.

Two of the planes immediatly broke off to both sides, but the third too a hit and smoke began to shoot from its engines as it started to crash.

However the pilot managed to kee control for a second, sending his plane hurling at the Tornado.

The two have this to say, "AW NUTS!!"

Barely, did Rotor pulled the plane away from the sacrificing 'bomber', but the force of the jet that past them caused the Tornado to spin.

"AAAAAHHH!!!" Barby managed to grab onto the rails between the wings before she was thrown too far off from the plane. Again, she returned back to the spinning ride.

With all his strength, Rotor tried to keep the steering stick steady until the plane was back in control; flying smoothly.

Hugging the rails with her life while her eyes froze wide, Barby gasped for air. Her knees felt so weak, they couldn't support her weight.

Rotor's eyes were wide too. "I don't....think I'll get...used to this. B-Barby?" To his relief, he found her on the right-wing. "Uh...you okay back there, Amy?" [rand=6374513053532936970720345943591690948220653954537500174966021503]

Amy gripped her seat hard with both hands, looking not only scared and disheveled, but nauseous as well. "... I think that I don't like flying!" she squeaked, pale from fear. "Just get it over with quick! Head for the portalmajig!"

KA-BLAM!

As if reminding Amy of its presence, the airship let loose with another round of anti-air fire.

BLAM!!! The explosions knocked the plane off balance, and again it span.

"ROTOR!!!! STOP THIS CRAZY THING!!!!!" Barby screamed, hugging the rails for dear life as her world was spinning before her closed eyes.

The walrus pulled the stick in the opposite direction the plane was spinning. The plane again set back to normal.

But Barby dared not to open her eyes or let go of the rails. "I'm so getting sick of this stupid government!!"

Rotor nervously searched the computer for something on this plane that could help. He then found the info on the battle mode. "This could help! Hang on!!"

Twisting the pressure value...

...a robotic hand came out and grabbed Barby, "WHAT THE-?!?"

Her eyes fell on the plane that was transforming into a new form. The wings shifted into an X-formation, and the tail lifted up a little in a angle.

The robot hand set Barby on the tail before the battle mode jet blasted off for the GUN battleship. Rotor thought about shooting their cannons, but he's still afraid he might hurt someone in that ship. Even though the military are trying to kill them, he still wouldn't bring himself to kill anymore than he did with that jet fighter.

It seemed as if the robot arm had been malfunctioning, whether it was due to the blasts from those stupid GUN ships or not. Instead of picking up Amy like it should have, it apparrently decided to pick up Barby instead. Amy wasn't concerned until the ship began to transform, and the seat she had been sitting in began to fold in on itself. Frightened, Amy scrambled away from the seat that was trying to crush her. She was forced to crawl over the pilot's seat and around Rotor's girth, and then she found herself smushed between him and the side of the just-transformed fighter plane. She glared at the walrus.

"ARE YOU FREAKING INSANE!?" she yelled at him, "YOU ALMOST CRUSHED ME!" She then had to take several narrow breaths, as there wasn't much room to move or breathe anymore.

While they were busy arguing, the remaining two jets were banking around, getting back on their tail and swooping in for the kill.

Rotor felt the lack to use his right arm, thanks to Amy squishing herself in his seat. "Wha?" Why would Tails' plane deliberately do that? Wouldn't he upgrade this mode to stay two seated if something like this could come up? Or perhaps the enemy fire caused a malfunction to the-

BLAM BLAM!! Because of their one sided argument, the Tornado suffered some damage on its tail. Luckily, the shots missed Barby, but smoke was leaking from the holes.

"ROTOR!!!!!" Barby cried, trying to swat the fire with her stick, not a good thing to do with a wooden object. She squealed as she tried to swat the fire off her stick.


Well, he had no choice but to stop hesitating or it'll be him instead of 'them' in the ocean. Taking the stick, with one hand thanks to Amy, Rotor slowed the jet down, letting the fighter jets shot past him and fired the missiles.

Amy's face was full of dread as the plane took the hits, but felt glad that they hadn't fallen out of the sky. She looked at the missiles headed for their enemy, heart beating quickly as she hoped it would buy them time to get through that portal.

No dice. *shoots self for bad pun.* Apparently they'd gotten lucky with the first fighter, cause the remaining two quicly dodged the fire.

Meanwhile, things were getting worse for them. As they flew along the ship's dorsal side, they could see hatches opening up all over as GUN robots armed with handheld antiaircraft missile launchers appeared on deck. And for the coup de grace, a large hatch near the center of the ship opened, revealing an elevator platform which rose to deck level...carrying a Hotshot class walker.

The radio crackled to life once more. "Hostile craft, we give you one final chance. Surrender...or be terminated with extreme predjudice!"[rand=895623047110818116495937247521986814183031348916022066023648126653]

See the walrus pale. "Oh man..." He was thinking about surrendering...

On the tail, Barby's eyes bulged at the number of the robots in the 'mouth'. "Tell them to let us pass!! We have friends in that friggin world!!"

"Um....I don't think they'll listen." with fear drowning his nerves, Rotor frantically checked the computer for anything in the Tornado that can help...maybe some type of super rocket thruster that'll blast them to the portal before those robots get the chance to attack. Something...

It seemed that Amy's constantly moving dial of emotion had moved yet again, settling borderline between annoyance and anger. She slammed down on the communicator button, and ranted back at the GUN ships.

"Look here, you Sonic-napping jerks! I'm going to find Sonic, and if that means taking Tails' plane and going through that portal, I'm GOING THROUGH THAT PORTAL. And you fired at US first, morons, so don't tell US that WE'RE hostile, you hedgehog-hating heathens!" she snarled.

... Apparrently she was still a mite angry over the whole imprisoning-Sonic thing.

[Lans]

"And YOU were warned that this was a restricted airspace and then proceeded to ignore those warnings, as well as refuse to comply with our instructions!" came the response from the radio. "And since I can safely interpret this as a refusal to THIS warning... All units, target the bogey."

The Tornado suddenly lit up with a bunch of red dots from the targeting lasers of the robot trooper's handheld launchers, an the covers on the walker's flipped open.

There was no way for Rotor to even move his arms. "We...are so dead."

But fate decides to spare their pitiful lives, for a portal formed around them, wisking them from existants.
