"Uhm..." Pause. What was the name again. ... and was this quiz? "... Mrs. Pleedplee?"

Finitevus stared. His nose wrinkled up he had to look away as he struggled to keep himself from laughing. Yet even then he turned to his laptop and began looking the name up. Just to be sure. "Mrs. Pleedplee?"

"Yeah. I think it was a prank call though. Once I had to deliver a pizza to a Mr. HORK at the ice cap zone..."

The pangolin promptly stopped typing and resumed staring. Suddenly he found his face falling into his palm. "For the love of Chaos."

"Yeah that's what I thought too. But I had to go anyway. My boss is a complete doof."

Well. This was certainly a problem, now wasn't it? Finitevus found himself faced with a very serious question - what to do with him. Letting him go wasn't an option; the kid knew too much and it would have meant losing one of his precious neuro modifiers. He rubbed his chin as he contemplated. The easiest thing to do was to just kill him and harvest the body. Then again, how often was it that experimental subjects just willingly fell into his lap? He hummed a bit. What sort of uses could he put him to, he wondered? He chuckled a bit, idly wondering what would happen if he spliced him with a spider. Or maybe a vampire bat? Hmm. There was those black arms samples he had... though he was saving those for a special occasion. He paused then, an idea seeming to strike him, and he smirked to himself. "So, how do you feel about track and field?"

The tenrec frowned. It wasn't because this was a sudden change in topic or anything, because he didn't even notice that, but because... "That's the only kind of stuff I was really good at in P.E... well, most of of it... if it involved running..." Bitter high school memories? Oh yes.

"Yeah. Plus with all the biking I do these days... " Pause. Where WAS his bike, anyway? "... have you seen my bike? I don't have a car, so if I lose it..." He fidgeted.

"Oh, I don't think you'll need to worry about that," he said, idly examining the back of one of his hands, pondering over various things. "It sounds like you have a pretty rotten life."

"Well... yeah, sorta. Sometimes I think I have the worst luck in the universe." Frowny-rec. "I bet my bike is on fire or something."

Fini snerked. "Yes. I'd definitely say you have the worst luck. Ever. In fact, I can't think of anyone off hand who has worse luck than you."

Dash simply... sat there (not that he could do much, being strapped down and all), and then nodded and stated simply: "I should get into the book of world records."

"Indeed. Bad luck of your caliber borders on supernatural," Fini chuckled and tapped the tips of his fingers together. "How would you like to turn that around?"

"Turn my luck around...?" The tenrec looked thoughtful for a moment. While it was a really nice idea, he wasn't sure. Not that he wasn't sure that it'd be nice, no, but wasn't sure that... well, "Would that even be possible?"

Pinching the bridge of his nose, Finitevus had to struggle not to laugh. "Of course. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Well, you just said it borders on supernatural yerself..." Though, really... he gave a shifty look around the room. "... maybe it is."

The tenrec sat back a bit and shrugged. "But hey, it's gotta be worth a try. So what'cha got in mind?"

"What would you say if I offered you a job? Decent pay, make your own hours," one again he struggled not to laugh, "And excellent medical coverage. You'll have to move of course, but you'll pay no rent and all basic needs will be provided. So long as you work for me."

Now, normally, NORMALLY, Dash would of been skeptical of an offer like this. But for some reason, right now, he'd of spent all the money he had to buy a piece of swamp land. So... " SOLD! ... or... er... hired? Whatever."

Fini snerked. Of course he knew it wasn't going to be this simple, but he couldn't help but be amused for now. "Excellent. It seems your luck is changing already. Tell me, what do you know of an organization referred to as the Dark Legion?"

"Wonderful! So do I, and that's what you'll be doing! You see, I asked about the Dark Legion, because I happen to be the owner of that organization. Unfortunately, the media has a rather... nasty way of twisting their facts about us. I want to make sure you... understand what you're agreeing to."
