"OH! ... but..." He gave pangolin a sideways glance, trying to digest what he's just been told. "... but... then what is it you really do??"

"As I said, change people's lives! Why, just look at you! You, with your atrocious luck, your terrible job, your insane boss, you greedy landlord... Why, you don't even have friends, do you? Your neighbors probably hate you. Do you honestly think that you'll make anything of yourself there, that you'll make it anywhere in life? Of course you won't, because to the world your its doormat."

The tenrec's ears drooped. That... that was true. Or, at least, most of it. He wasn't sure about the neighbor part... well, he knew Raki hated him, or seemed to, but... he always thought that Leedz liked him... at least, you know, a little... "... but Leedz gave me a scarf... I don't think she hates me..."

"Oh, I'm sure you'd like to believe that... you're so desperate for acceptance you're willing to look for it where it simply isn't. Don't be fooled just because someone acts polite to your face." He leaned forward, placing a hand on the tenrec's shoulder and giving him what appeared to be a soft, understanding smile. "But you see, you won't have to worry about that anymore. You're here now, and I'm going to make things better for you. Look at what I offer you; freedom! Financial security! And all I ask in return is that you help me touch even more lives."

The tenrec sank in his seat. Maybe Leedz DID hate him. There was that prank call today, she knew how much he hated prank calls... but she apologized... but... maybe she was just pretending... He shook his head, clearing the thought from his mind. He was being offered a new chance right now, and he couldn't just let it slip away! With his luck, something like this would NEVER, EVER come up again! "I guess... yeah, sounds good then."

"Of course it does. You see, I'm right. I'm always right. You're making a wise decision by choosing to work for me."

Dash nodded. This guy, even if he didn't know his name, really has been speaking nothing but truth this entire time. Why should he doubt him now? "Yeah... yeah I think so."

He smirked. "My name is Dr. Finitevus. I am always right. Do you trust this? Do you trust me?"

Dash continued to nod, still thinking over everything he's been told, unaware of how those thoughts were sinking in... "Yeah... I trust you..."

And as if that wasn't enough of an ego stroke already, "Say it again. Finitevus is always right. You trust him unquestionably."

The tenrec nodded, then yawned. This entire time he's felt... rather tired. But, for some reason, right now, he felt especially tired. But it'd be rude to fall asleep right now, especially when having a conversation with such a nice guy... "Finitevus is always right... 'an I trust him unquestsionably...", he mummbled, "...'cuz he's always right..." ... a nice, always right guy. Yeah.

Noticing the tenrec starting to crash, Finitevus decided it was time to begin wrapping up this little session. Standing up and stretching a bit, he got close to Dash and bent over to whisper directly into his ear. "Remember. Always trust me. We'll speak more later, but for now... I want you to rest. Pleasant dreams, Dash."

The tenrec continued to nod, though it lessened more and more as his fatigue overtook him. " Dun worry, I'll always trust ya... 'an I'll rememmer it..." And, with one final yawn, Dash fell asleep, still thinking of how nice this guy was, and how trustworthy he was, and most importantly, about how he was always right... and with no idea whatsoever of how badly he'd just been manipulated.

The pangolin doctor straighted, grinning manically as he struggled to keep himself from bursting into laughter again. Doing that to someone never ceased to amuse him. Well, now that his patient had been nicely prepped, it was time to begin the next phase of his idea. Here's to hoping it a success, he thought, as he wheeled the sleeping tenrec off to be washed and... enhanced.
